St Helen's Police

Local officers got involved with the "I Run You Walk Collective" 2K run/walk. If you would like to get involved, the group run every Sunday at 11am, meeting at the exercise park in Little Wormwood Scrubs. We will hopefully next be able to attend on the 9th June for another 2K :)

St Helens officers were assisting with Portobello Market patrols today as well as providing crime prevention advice outside of Gail's. Officers are aware that thieves operate in the area, however, thankfully today seemed to see in a decrease in offences committed.

St Helens officers spent this morning and afternoon patrolling Portobello Markets to try and prevent reoccurring pickpocketing offences. We also spent some time on the crime prevention stall, where we had a very eager customer... Lopsy, the one eared spaniel from Switzerland!

On the 9th of April, St Helens officers conducted their ASB Surgery around the Westway Sports Centre. Officers are aware of the anti-social behaviour that can occur in this area and therefore conducted thorough patrols as well as conducting weapon sweeps.

Thank you so much to Alistair from Honest Graft and Marsia from Hope Gardens for their insightful lesson into planting trees! You will be glad to know that it has been potted and is being looked after by officers in the local police station :)

St Helens officers were out on foot patrol today conducting weapon sweeps across the general area. Whilst searching an electrical cupboard that had obviously been forced open, this flick knife was found. The knife has been seized and will be disposed of safely :)

St Helens officers had a very productive day today with conducting patrols across four different wards as well as attending Cuppa with a Copper. Missed us this time? Our next contact session is April 3rd at St Helens Bakery at 1300hours :)

Whilst conducting patrols todays, St Helens officers have conducted a S23 search for drugs, where cannabis has been seized. In addition, a member of public made officers aware of a knife that had been stashed. This has been seized and disposed of safely.

Officers were conducting proactive patrols this weekend, covering the Portobello Markets. Officers noticed a large handle sticking out from a males waistband. He was stopped and searched and was later arrested for two offences of possession of an offensive weapon!

A knife-wielding man has been jailed after a group of off-duty officers rushed to intervene as he attacked another man in #Southwark Shocking footage demonstrates "the heroism shown by these officers is nothing short of exceptional" as they separate the attacker from the victim.

Whilst out on patrol in the St Helens ward today, officers came across this knife which had been stashed away. Although it was on the "smaller" side, it was extremely sharp and could definitely have cause some injuries if used. It was seized by officers and safely disposed of.

There was also a huge amount of engagement/learning around road safety and crime prevention

Which resulted in two arrests for driving under the influence of class A and B drugs,five vehicle seizures for no insurance,multiple vehicle and person searches with drug finds. Multiple traffic reports for using mobile phones whilst driving and bald tyres.

Today your local Neighbourhood Police Teams conducted a proactive traffic operation with our Traffic Police colleagues on Scrubs Lane aimed at keeping our roads safe and taking offenders of the streets. We had use of Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras amongst other kit

The enquiries proved positive with an arrest and more intelligence gathered in finding outstanding suspects. 💪🏼

Officers from Central West VSU have stopped and searched a male in the vicinity of #portobello road. the male was found in possession of this #knife. male arrested and charged to court today. #knifecrime reduction and one less on the streets.

St Helens and Dalgarno officers assisted with this little accident today. Please be cautious when overtaking other vehicles, ensuring it is safe to do so and will not put other road users in dangerous situations. Luckily in this situation, no one suffered any injuries.
