I spent most of the season trying to be even-keeled about the Spurs, but to borrow the words of Victor Wembanyama, screw it! I just don’t see a ceiling on this team with the way they’re playing right now. This is a title winning team. They’re capable. Hell, they’re more than capable.

If you were a Spurs fan in the late 80s/early 90s through early 2000s, you know how thirsty we were for guards or 6’4”- 6’7” players who could dunk in game in the half court. Or have versatility & athleticism instead of being specialty one way players. Outside of David/Sean in the 90s, there was very little versatility & athleticism. Then in the early 2000s, we had one year of Derrick Anderson, which was a breath of fresh air. What we are seeing now is wild. Dunk after dunk from everyone. Spurs have the versatile/athletic goods at all spots in each lineup.

@MRVBM @EricSal_7 Anderson played in that 01 series and it made no difference 🤣 They completely dismantled the spurs and proved that their 00 title wasn’t a fluke (hence why defending a title is crucially important!). In 03, Shaq had toe issues and wasn’t the player he was in 00-02.
