We’ve been working hard on recruitment, and today I get to go meet one of our new teams for the first time! Looking forward to an exciting year ahead with our group from @CastlebraeCCC @HolyRoodRCHigh & @LibertonHS @Edinburgh_CC @OutwardBoundUK

He told us that when he returned home, he was making more of a conscious effort to get up and go when he started his day and trying to spend more time outdoors to support his wellbeing.

Zachary, age 18 spoke to us after he took part in The Mark Scott Award last year. He told us about how his wellbeing had been low, much of which he attributed to being unproductive at home and spending time 'doom-scrolling' on his phone. @outwardbounduk

Being away on the Outward Bound residential at the start of the Award, immersed in nature, he found that he began to feel better in himself and was more productive in how he spent his time.

We’re scooting around the central belt delivering recruitment presentations at the moment. The team travel by bike as much as reasonably possible, and have found a few nice stops for lunch or a cuppa between meetings in the lovely wether this week! @OutwardBoundUK

We’re still waiting to hear back from a few schools about recruitment for next year. With our team’s schedules pretty packed until study leave, make sure you get in touch to arrange a presentation for your current S5 students.

With almost half of our teams this year finished their community projects, we're starting to look towards recruiting for our 2025-26 participants. If your school take part, keep your eyes peeled for our email to arrange recruitment presentations.
