It's Cesarean Awareness Month and we are thankful for @AWHONN for lifting up this issue. Mississippi has high primary cesarean rates which is why the Jackson Safer Childbirth Experience made reduction one of our project goals. We plan to see more moms exploring vaginal births.
AWHONN@AWHONN

This month, we are raising awareness and educating people about cesareans. Join #AWHONN in supporting a reduction in the number of cesareans in mothers who do not really need or who will not benefit from this procedure when compared to a vaginal birth. #CesareanAwarenessMonth

Evidence shows that continuous support during labor may improve outcomes for women and infants. That's why the Jackson Safer Childbirth Experience is training new doulas for our community. For more info on becoming a doula or finding a doula, please visit safebirthjxn.org/doulas
