The 1965 Voting Rights Act was landmark legislation to stop states from diluting the vote of minorities - most notably Black voters in the South who had been systematically disenfranchised. Last month, the US Supreme Court gutted it. Today, Michigan became the first state in the country since that ruling to hold a legislative hearing on state level legislation to enshrine those rights. I was proud to cosponsor these bills and vote them out of committee.

Last week, AOC joined More Perfect Union on a trip to Morgan County, Georgia, where she met with residents living near a site that will host a massive Meta data center. Residents haven't had clean well water since the construction project began.

McGovern: It took us forever to compensate the victims of 9/11, and here you have this $1.8 billion slush fund that doesn’t go through any committees or hearings.
