Following the successful conclusion of the APC North-West Zonal Congress and Election in Kaduna, that I had the honour to host, I am deeply encouraged by the spirit of unity, discipline, and democratic responsibility displayed by delegates and stakeholders across the zone. The auspicious gathering stands as a clear affirmation of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), as a party rooted in inclusion, strengthened by grassroots participation, and guided by transparency and fairness. The orderly conduct and credible outcomes of the Congress reflect not only the institutional maturity of our Party, but also a shared commitment to consolidating its internal cohesion and democratic integrity. I extend my sincere appreciation to my brother governors, distinguished party leaders, and delegates whose presence and contributions enriched the process. I also warmly welcome Governors Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State and Dauda Dare Lawal of Zamfara State into our fold. Their alignment with our Party underscores a growing consensus around our shared vision and further reinforces the strategic importance of the North-West within the national political landscape. We remain steadfast in our support for our great Leader, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and his Renewed Hope Agenda, which continues to advance bold reforms aimed at stabilising the economy, strengthening institutions, and laying the foundation for sustainable and inclusive growth. As we move forward, we must build on this momentum: deepening unity, sustaining discipline, and working collectively toward a stronger Party and a more prosperous Nigeria. ROADS OF LEGACY: GOVERNOR UBA SANI RECONNECTS KADUNA Across Kaduna State, the impact of purposeful leadership is clearly visible on the ground. Under the administration of Governor Uba Sani, major road projects across the state have moved decisively from concept to completion—demonstrating a government that not only initiates development, but ensures it is fully delivered. From Zaria to Kaduna North and into Southern Kaduna, strategic road corridors have been *conceived, initiated, executed and completed* under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani. These roads are now easing movement, strengthening local commerce and reconnecting communities that once faced difficult access. Projects such as the Magajiya–Amaru–Unguwan Liman Road, Audi–Kako Road, Tudun Biri Road, Durum–Kurumtumawa Road, Pambegua–Kauru Road, the Gadar Gayan–Kujama Junction Road and the Madauchi–Madakiya–Kafanchan Road stand as clear examples of a leadership style focused on results. From groundbreaking to commissioning, Governor Uba Sani has demonstrated that true leadership lies not only in vision but also in the determination to see that vision fully realised. Today, these roads tell a powerful story across Kaduna State—*projects started, completed and delivered under one administration,* leaving behind a legacy of connectivity, growth and visible development.

On the evening of March 5, 2026, I had the privilege of hosting the highly respected Kaduna State Elders Forum to an Iftar (breaking of fast) at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House in Kaduna. The distinguished delegation was led by the Forum’s Co-Chairman, Abubakar Mustapha. The gathering provided a valuable opportunity for reflection, dialogue, and shared commitment to the continued progress of our dear state. During the Iftar, members of the Forum expressed their appreciation for the developmental initiatives our administration has undertaken, particularly in rural communities that have historically been underserved. They observed that these efforts are gradually restoring confidence among our people and rekindling a renewed sense of hope about the future of Kaduna State. The Forum also assured us of its readiness to continue mobilizing citizens across the state to support initiatives aimed at consolidating peace, strengthening social cohesion, and advancing sustainable development. In my remarks, I conveyed my profound gratitude to the Elders for their steadfast support and the invaluable wisdom they continue to offer. Their counsel remains an enduring source of guidance as we navigate the complex responsibilities of governance. I also used the occasion to share updates on the strides we have made as an administration and underscored the importance of preserving unity, mutual respect, and peace as we gradually approach the election campaign season. Guided by the wisdom of our elders and strengthened by our collective resolve, we remain firmly committed to building a peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous Kaduna State. BREAKING: Governor Uba Sani @ubasanius is in Rigasa to perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 102 new schools and the renovation of 170 others across the state ❤️🇳🇬👏 This shows a deliberate push to significantly reduce the number of out-of-school children in Kaduna State and ensure every child has a desk and a roof over their head. This is not a new commitment. In his first year alone, Senator Uba Sani constructed 62 new schools, with another 50 in the second phase. The impact under Kaduna State Basic Education Board has been equally transformative. To date, the administration has: ✅ Built 736 new classrooms and renovated 1,220 existing ones. ✅ Secured learning environments with perimeter fencing in 39 schools. ✅ Improved health and sanitation with 595 VIP toilets and 165 hand pump boreholes. ✅ Established 4 Bilingual Education Schools (Igabi, Zaria, Kubau, and Giwa) serving 7,680 learners, alongside a state-of-the-art school in Tudun-Biri. ✅ Supplied 81,540 pieces of school furniture to ensure students learn in comfort. ✅ Launched 9 vocational centers specifically designed to bridge the gap between education and employment. Governor Uba Sani is not just building structures; he is building the future of Kaduna by making quality education accessible to the grassroots.

Kaduna Secures Full Control of Ahmadu Bello Stadium as State Unveils Bold Sports Transformation Plan The Kaduna State Government has formally taken over the ownership, custody and control of Ahmadu Bello Stadium following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Governor Uba Sani and the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko. The agreement was signed on February 26, 2026, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja. Speaking at a World Press Conference, the Honourable Commissioner for Sports Development, Prof. Benjamin Kumai Gugong, described the transfer as a bold and strategic achievement driven by the visionary leadership of Governor Uba Sani. He noted that the Governor’s decisive engagement with the Federal Government reflects his commitment to repositioning Kaduna as a leading hub for sports development and youth empowerment. The Commissioner stated that Kaduna is the first state to fully key into the Federal Government’s sports revitalisation agenda under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by taking concrete responsibility for a major national sporting asset. He disclosed that comprehensive reconstruction of the stadium has commenced, with seating capacity being expanded from 16,000 to 32,000. Upon completion, the facility will become the second largest stadium in Nigeria. According to him, the project goes beyond physical expansion. It is designed as a modern Sports City with upgraded facilities and commercial components to ensure sustainability and revenue generation. Prof. Gugong outlined expected gains including job creation, economic stimulation, increased hosting capacity for national and international competitions, and strengthened youth development pathways. He emphasised that the transfer reflects Governor Uba Sani’s broader development philosophy that infrastructure must serve both economic and social purposes. The Commissioner expressed appreciation to the Federal Government, the National Sports Commission and all stakeholders for their collaboration, describing the MOU as the beginning of a new era for sports infrastructure and youth advancement in Kaduna State.

Kaduna Government Announces Statewide Sanitation Exercise for Saturday, February 28 The Kaduna State Government has announced that the State-wide Monthly Sanitation Exercise will hold on Saturday, 28th February, 2026, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. In a statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, the Government reiterated its unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability, public health, and the maintenance of high sanitation standards across the State. According to the statement, all markets, schools, workplaces, motor parks, and other public places are to remain closed during the exercise until 10:00 a.m. to allow residents to actively participate in cleaning their surroundings and communities. The Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Abubakar Buba, emphasized the importance of the monthly exercise as a critical component of the State’s preventive health strategy. “The monthly sanitation exercise is not merely a routine activity; it is a collective civic responsibility aimed at safeguarding public health, preventing disease outbreaks, and ensuring a cleaner and safer Kaduna State for all,” the Commissioner stated. He further called on community leaders, market associations, transport unions, and residents to ensure full compliance within their respective domains, stressing that defaulters would be liable to appropriate legal action in accordance with existing environmental laws and regulations. The Kaduna State Government urged citizens to treat the exercise with the seriousness it deserves, noting that environmental cleanliness remains a shared responsibility between government and the people. Residents are therefore encouraged to actively participate and cooperate with relevant authorities to ensure the success of the exercise.

Today, we formally welcome my junior brother, Abdullahi Yunusa from Kaduna South, as he moves from the PDP into the fold of the APC. As a young dedicated activist and Chairman of the Kaduna South students, Abdullahi understands that real progress requires the kind of all inclusive governance our Governor is building. His decision to join the winning team is the right move at the exact right time. We know he will be a massive asset to our party, particularly in the media as we work to keep the public informed about the policies, programs and achievements of Governor Uba Sani’s administration and strengthen the bond of trust between the government and the people.

Today, We formalise a decision of enduring institutional consequence: the transfer of ownership and handover of Ahmadu Bello Stadium from the Federal Government of Nigeria, through the National Sports Commission ably led by Alhaji Shehu Dikko, to the Kaduna State Government, subject to agreed safeguards graciously approved by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in the national interest. This milestone underscores our firm resolve to reposition sport as a disciplined instrument of economic growth and social renewal. Since its commissioning in 1964, the Stadium has not undergone the depth of structural modernisation required to sustain its status as a premier sporting arena. That era of deferment has now yielded to deliberate action. Comprehensive reconstruction is underway to expand capacity from 16,000 to 32,000 seats, positioning it as the second largest stadium in Nigeria after the Moshood Abiola National Stadium and among the finest of its kind in the country. Our purpose is precise: to stimulate economic activity, strengthen sports tourism, generate employment, and attract investment. Beyond commerce, however, the Stadium will remain a shared national asset, open to our national teams, federal sporting programmes, and events of collective importance. Its gates will continue to welcome all Nigerians. It is gladdening to add that the leadership of the National Sports Commission has commended Kaduna State’s prompt alignment with the transformation agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to establish sports as a viable economic driver. Kaduna has set a clear example; others are now embracing this strategic direction. I extend profound appreciation to the Federal Government; our great leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; the National Sports Commission, and all stakeholders whose diligence has enabled this transition. We are confident that the renewed Stadium will stand for decades as a testament to partnership, foresight, and responsible public stewardship. Our administration is grounded in dialogue, transparency, and compassion. In this spirit, development is not imposed; it is achieved collectively, delivering benefits that will endure for generations. We will not demolish homes or dispossess any citizen without fair and adequate compensation. Nor will we disguise expediency in the language of “Overriding Public Interest.” Public interest must never eclipse private rights without just restitution. Rigasa, as one of the most peaceful urban poor communities in Kaduna State, has long demonstrated resilience and civic harmony, and it richly deserves the focused development and support of our government.

Reviving Connectivity: Governor Uba Sani and the Unguwan Kanawa Bridge Project The Unguwan Kanawa bridge and the road link toward Rigasa are more than just infrastructure; they are lifelines for Kaduna residents. Recognizing that mobility and safety are the bedrock of economic growth, the administration of Governor Uba Sani immediately prioritized the revival of this critical project. To set the record straight, the facts of this transformation are clear: 1. Governor Uba Sani inherited the Unguwan Kanawa bridge project in a state of abandonment. 2. Contrary to circulated claims, this administration has completed major works on the bridge and is actively extending the road from Unguwan Kanawa to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Bypass. 3. The current administration has fully paid compensation to residents along the Mahuta corridor—a debt the previous administration failed to settle. 4. It was Governor Sani who successfully negotiated the right-of-way with the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), a breakthrough that finally allowed the road alignment to proceed. 5. Work is moving steadily, a fact daily affirmed by the residents and commuters who use the route. Given these undeniable interventions, one would expect any patriotic resident especially those from Unguwan Kanawa to commend an administration that has breathed life into a project abandoned in their own backyard. Public infrastructure should never be politicized at the expense of truth. This administration is doing the hard work of restoring development, access, and confidence to Unguwan Kanawa. The results are visible: a bridge that now stands complete and a road steadily advancing toward full connectivity. The Unguwan Kanawa bridge project now stands as a testament to committed governance: turning a history of abandonment into a future of tangible results.
