@Adam_Stirling Can any of these councilors speak to this issue from a place of knowledge? Have any had a conversation with the Coastal First Nations to understand the issues? That is the place to start, not the opinion of the Liberals who are swayed by public opinion.

Tankers are not part of running Victoria, but Councillor Caradonna moved the motion yesterday, citing the need to "back the province in their holding the line against the feds" on the tanker moratorium.
Councillor Susan Kim then cited BC Liberal MPs being "pretty upset" about the prospect of the tanker ban being weakened as reason for it to be "quite smart for us to come out singing from the same song sheet," whatever that means.
Councillor Dave Thompson then chimed in to remind everyone that he already moved a tanker ban support motion in November a few months ago, which already passed then.
(There were some audio issues yesterday while they broadcasted from the Saanich room of the Victoria Conference Centre due to problems with the AV equipment at City Hall).
