They have reached a level of political maturity and progress that leaves no place for either religious or monarchical reaction. Dear Hannah, I really liked the idea of bringing different Iranian voices together to talk about the future of Iran. Especially right now, something like this feels important and truly needed. But I felt really disgusted when I saw WHO was meant to be at the same table. I genuinely welcome that Kurdish voices are included, but at the same time it feels extremely contradictory to place them next to someone who has publicly called these same groups “separatists.” That just doesn’t create the kind of respectful space a political dialogue like this needs. I also struggle with the fact that Reza Pahlavi has repeatedly called for military attacks on Iran. How does that align with a real concern for the country and its people? He has also not condemned the execution of the six political prisoners who were executed just last week. If we are talking about Iran’s future, the well-being and security of its population should be at the very center. I won’t even go into the broader contradictions, like how he benefits from his father’s title while dismissing responsibility when it comes to addressing the atrocities committed under his rule. That’s a whole different story. On top of that, seeing groups like the 7 Aban Front and APOS involved, which are clearly close to him, makes me question how balanced this setup really is. With just a few clicks, it becomes quite clear that they act as lobby groups in his favor.
