@Deere_Salesman Bury apple slices in coffee grounds in a open container. Leave it in the cab with the windows closed in the sun for a day. Been told it works, but I’ve never tried it.
Locals keep calling the state police on the young farmer who is chopping silage and mowing hay till midnight. The kid lost his father last year. Personally, I hope these people starve if we see supply chain breakdowns.
@benjaminaustic@Cargill@ProPricing They have several slick programs to make you think you covering your marketing bases. A bunch of highly educated, but low on morals people came up with this to prey on someone doing actual work to support their family. Hopefully they are held accountable.
#agtwitter - My buddy signed up 60k bushels of corn with @Cargill@ProPricing. Today he's 60% priced at... drum roll...
$3.99 / bu.
Anyone else in this boat? I'm curious how many are affected.
@BrentJFF It would be nice to see them held accountable. It been a constant battle with them. The cruddy pro pricing is only the beginning. Before corn went up they tried to add sales to my account. They’ve tried to set a low basis a few times. And they have tried to spot loads in.
Due to unforeseen circumstances and extreme market volatility, this constitutes a Force Majuere event for us with all our Cargill Pro Pricing contracts hence forth. Soon to be sub $4 new crop #corn
@justinfastert I can’t say I’m too picky in the terminology of harvesting corn, but when someone says they are picking beans I can’t help the uncontrollable eye roll. If they said threshing it would be an improvement.
@Pasztor79 There’s nothing wrong with making it look nice. Our ditches are a lot deeper here and it’s kind of funny how some guys will destroy equipment to get theirs mowed. Also probably doesn’t make sense to be running a tractor that cost 90 dollars an hour to operate with $20k of tires.
@GoddessofGrain We sell grain direct to processors here and we are always watching our back. The Cargill reps that are supposedly on our side are usually good in the beginning and then it becomes apparent who signs their paychecks. I would like to do business with a place that earned my business!
Many co-ops are failing because they absolutely suck at customer relations and knowing what it takes to build a solid relationship between those responsible for buying grain and the farmers selling it
@JohnDeere Combining beans with a CIH 1660 without the A/C working. It was the year my dad died and I didn’t feel like I had the time to stop and fix it. I lost 15 to 20 pounds in that 2 weeks. I was a lot tougher 19 years ago. Or smarter now. Or both😁.
@vogeliowa I just spent 4 years trying to make a landlord happy, losing money all the way. It’s not worth it. Nothing I did or said mattered to these people, as long as they got their giant rent check I could stay. Finally woke up and realized I could make more net profit with less ground.
@AdamJPfeffer Used to work for a JD dealer as a planter tech around 20 years ago. I changed a lot of gauge wheels back then with a jig that someone built out of two pieces of pipe that just fit around the outside of the holes in the rims. There was four rods welded to the bottom one to line up
