These are Marines. AKA badasses. They put a EKG with a cuff on me and had to ride a stationary bike for 12 minutes. Swear to gozer, that was our PT test. It was embarrassing. Two aspirin an hour before and a shot of vodka 20 minutes prior, anybody could pass that test.

For most "Scrapes and Minor Cuts", the goal is to keep the wound clean and slightly moist while it heals. Plain 'Petroleum Jelly' is often as effective as Antibiotic Ointments for Uncomplicated Wounds and is less likely to cause allergic reactions. Some good options include: Vaseline (plain petroleum jelly): A great first choice for most minor cuts and scrapes. It helps prevent the wound from drying out and supports healing. Aquaphor: Similar to petroleum jelly but contains additional moisturizing ingredients. Many people find it works well for scrapes. Polysporin: Contains antibiotics and may be appropriate if your healthcare provider recommends an antibiotic ointment. It tends to cause fewer allergic skin reactions than triple-antibiotic products. Neosporin: Widely available, but some people develop allergic contact dermatitis from one of its ingredients (neomycin), so it's not always the best first choice. For best healing: Rinse the scrape or cut under clean running water to remove dirt. Wash the surrounding skin with mild soap. Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly or ointment. Cover with a clean bandage and change it daily or whenever it becomes wet or dirty. You should seek medical care if: The wound is deep, gaping, or won't stop bleeding after 10–15 minutes of firm pressure. There's dirt or debris you can't remove. It's from an animal or human bite, or a rusty/dirty object. You notice increasing redness, swelling, warmth, pus, fever, or worsening pain. Your tetanus vaccination isn't up to date (generally every 10 years, or sooner for some dirty wounds). If the scrape is a typical road rash or skinned knee/elbow, plain petroleum jelly (Vaseline) or Aquaphor would usually be my first recommendation. If you have diabetes, poor circulation, or a weakened immune system, it's a good idea to be more cautious and consider having the wound evaluated if there's any concern.
