@KevinLamb74 Early drafts of RotJ made it clear that Leia and their mother both went to live with the Organas and the mother died shortly after.

ERROR: Fans call out Return of the Jedi blunder during scene where Leia says she remembers her mother, despite Padme clearly dying in Revenge of the Sith while Leia is barely a minute or two old. Should ROTJ be forgiven for this obvious continuity error or does it disqualify Episode VI from being considered canon?

@ATRightMovies Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. It's the kind of sprawling adventure movie I had been yearning to see when I was a teenager.

@KevinLamb74 Honestly, I was a prequel defender back in the day, and I still don't dislike them, BUT they are very skippable. In recent years, I've realized it really is just three movies of exposition and set up.

Ironically you can also do the exact opposite and skip only Episode II. Then you see Anakin being made a padawan at the end of TPM and Boss Nass shouting "Peace!" only to have the very next Episode immediately begin with "War!" leaving the viewer to wonder "oh no...what happened?" Keep the creation of the clone army a mystery since it had all that Syfo-Dyas stuff that never went anywhere and just get right into it. It also allows OT Fett to be cooler since you don't see him as a child. And I say all that as a fan of AOTC.

If you think about it you can pretty much go from the ending of Episode 2 into the original trilogy without too many questions

@HMBohemond Prequel hate did not start with the Red Letter Media reviews. I was a prequel defender and everywhere on the internet, in pop culture and in my personal life, people would talk about how awful they were.

So I'm noticing the new wave of "the Star Wars Prequels were always hated!" cope from Sequel simps is that they bring up examples of CRITICISMS of the Prequels from before Red Letter Media's infamously bad reviews. This is hilarious, because criticisms of film are normal. Even the Original Trilogy has flawed points that fans critiqued at release and to this day. Citing that fans had criticisms before Red Letter Media induced Prequel derangement syndrome doesn't prove that they were "widely hated." It just shows that Prequel fans are more objective about what they love than Sequel simps. They're actually willing to criticize it. You can have criticisms of something even if it's objectively good.

@StarWarsDaily_ I wouldn't even remember him if I hadn't seen propaganda after Rise of Skywalker opened claiming that people think he's cuter than Baby Yoda. That felt like a studio plant. Mandalorian season 1 stole Episode 9's thunder.

@IMAO_ I think this is the most fair assessment I've seen. Even people who love The Last Jedi have to admit that it felt like Rian Johnson took everything that fans had speculated about and swept it away.

The Force Awakens domestic gross was $937 million. No other movie has come close to that. There was a lot that movie did wrong, but it did some very fundamental things right to get that many people to see it. And then Rogue One was very entertaining and definitely made for Star Wars fans. I think people forget how great things were looking after Disney's first two movies and how much anticipation there was for The Last Jedi which most people assumed was going to be The Empire Strikes Back of the trilogy, improving on The Force Awakens's decent start. But The Last Jedi was like, "Everything you liked about The Force Awakens? That was dumb. We're doing something different."

@WhispurrAudio I disagree. I feel like Rian was still trying to keep it for families with a focus on appealing to Gen Z'ers. Just me though.

@untiloasis I walked out with such a mixed feeling, but mostly feeling "Star Wars isn't for me anymore." I don't have a problem with Luke's arc but his line about the rebellion being reborn made me feel like it was a reset to the status quo of the OT but with new characters.

@Valiantes_ This feels like Disney is waving a white flag, acknowledging no matter how much they expand the property, the OT leads are iconic.

@fandompulse To me this was the most cynical choice Disney could have made. They wanted a safe choice but it has been years since The Mandalorian was the pop culture phenomenon that gave us "Baby Yoda." This also doesn't look bigger than an episode of the show.

The Mandalorian and Grogu is now tracking at $65M for its opening weekend according to World of Reel, which would set the record for the lowest Disney-era Star Wars opening, including Solo. The Force Awakens opened to $936M domestic. Six years of Kennedy-era movies, three seasons of Mandalorian, and the first theatrical Star Wars in six years may open below a film everyone called a box office disappointment in 2018. Is Disney's Star Wars brand beyond repair?

@RetroNewsNow I remember this because they showed a shortened version of the Batman Returns trailer during commercial breaks. First time I saw any footage of the sequel after three long years of hearing it was coming. As a kid, three years felt like an eternity.

@MickamiousG Blows my mind to read comments like this considering the prequel trilogy was treated like a crime against cinema when they were released. And George Lucas was a greedy man who "r*ped" everyone's childhood.

Disney ruined Star Wars. Actually not ruined, they destroyed Star Wars. Everything from 1999 to 2005 was epic. Everything after that was absolute dog shit and that’s being polite.
