Some of these think pieces on Elliott are wild… I’m happy for him. I do believe there was a lack of development at UNC. I do believe his mom rubbed ppl the wrong way esp her political views. But let’s not act like he’s not on a better roster now than what he was at UNC.

@BBGreatMoments But that was a strike at the top of the plate. It dropped to a ball by the middle of the plate and that was a sick pitch. Ump got that right. But let me guess you wanted that to be challenged and have the ABS call it a ball at the middle of the plate?

Some of the absolute worst, most harmful people we have in the NCAA college sports landscape are: 1) The self-proclaimed "advocates" who actually just grift and exploit. 2) The former college sports "reformers" who completely sold out. Good afternoon.

@BBGreatMoments Never been an out. If a baserunner is hit by a ball coming off the bat it's an out. If a fielder grabs it and throws and hits any runner they aren't out.

@uncglazer Because they had European pro basketball players on their team. UConn was going to win that game because of the physical play. Euroleague is not the physical.

@NILnotNLI Name name Cal. Here I will do one better I will name an ESPN analyst that used to be an employment lawyer! Jay Bilas! This is the model he advocated for such a long time. Now he has it he doesn't want any guardrails put up. He is an idiot!!

Coach Calipari speaking truths... The foundation of our beautiful sport of NCAA College Basketball has crumbled into total chaos. As Cal and the right side fight to ensure a transformational model, certain lawyers continue wrongly shilling for harmful unrestricted eligibility

I agree! And I think this is a process to go towards that and Jay has been advocating for Chao for far too long. When asked about a solution he doesn't answer. IMO there have to be guardrails with NIL. There needs to be further guardrails with education and it should be fair across the board.

@MSmith1883 If I had all those answers I’d be making a lot more money. All I’m saying is the voices advocating for payment should be equally as loud for continuing education.

Not only should Jay advocate for athlete rights to be paid and move with ultimate freedom, but he needs to advocate for universities to allow unlimited transferable hours to aid in graduation. This is still important, right?
Mit Winter@WinterSportsLaw

As @JayBilas correctly points out, there’s a lot of hypocrisy in college athletics right now. It’s only when athletes begin to get paid that it’s necessary to have a federal law to “save college sports.”

That is not the point, and Jay misses it for this EO. The EO is for guardrails around NIL and giving the NCAA the ability to guard against unethical behavior. Jay has always advocated through his tenure at ESPN for anarchy in college sports and now that he has what he wants he is calling it bad when people want fair play. People need to change the name of this bill from the SAVE Act to the Anti-Jay Bilas Act!

He is right. Only needed to be “saved” when athletes had right and got a check

@leemitchell38 @brianHcarter @WinterSportsLaw @JayBilas That is not true that students can transfer whenever they want to because you cannot transfer if your grades are not in line with the other school. ŴThere are guardrails for students to transfer and there should be guardrails for the athletes.

@IcyVert It really is but more in the zone if it would have registered at the front of the plate. Remember the ABS system is calibrated at the middle of the plate. ABS makes it where there are two different strike zones.

@JudgeBobOrr And EO’s can apparently resurrect rules that Article III courts have already found unlawful? I can’t wait to read this shit.

Limiting college athletes to one transfer in a five-year window should be matched by limiting coaches to changing jobs of their own volition more than once in a five-year window too.
