Thankful family/friends stayed for a couple of days after my dads COL on Sat. Played cards Sun nite. My BIL said make the person at the end of table a frog. AI did - at the wrong end. 🤣 Told him, you needed a better prompt. #FillTheCup when you can. ❤️

It's Spring Break, which can mean only one thing: My wife is leaving on a cruise for the next 6 days while I get to stay at home and do tax returns. #TaxTwitter

@AnnMIronsCPALLC And maybe I’ll have to look into scheduling, I just don’t know if it will work with my current situation. The check ins are my #1 concern so I’ll check it out after season and see if I can make it work.

I completed over 75% of my PTEs without extending, and based on that I think I should feel good about where I’m at this season, but I still feel further behind and I still have a bunch of unhappy clients wondering where their returns are. I don’t want to schedule client’s returns and spread more work throughout the year, I like having a busy season and an off season. That being said, the way it’s going, no matter how great I’m doing I just constantly feel like I’m failing because someone’s not happy. Changes will be happening for TY 2026.

It’s actually not difficult. What I do is run a quick liability projection, then plug in the info from the last pay stub into a spreadsheet that calculates what the expected year-end numbers will be, then I use a paycheck calculator (ADP has a good one) and determine what the withholding will be at the highest rate, then I add the appropriate number to the extra withholding on that line on the W4. I’m being serious. I don’t find this difficult and do this for a lot of my clients.

#taxtwitter I have a messy situation. Daughter has durable POA on dad who is incapacitated. Mom is dead. Joint return is being filed. No one represents mom (bad family issues). Can daughter signing for dad also sign for mom?
