@abd1rahman @lauriolaaa Lost his man like he always does. Such a mediocre defender. Should have had a penalty in the 90th as well which was clear but not called. Gattuso setup and in-game management as bad as could be but playing him was his worst mistake.

A new manager is just part of the puzzle and means almost nothing if many other massive changes aren’t made.
But if this national team is going to be reborn, the best (realistic) overall package is the man who took us from the previous “rock bottom” point to the top.

Italy has no one to blame. There is enough talent to win WC qualifiers.
That said, European qualifiers are entirely broken.
48 teams. Haiti, Curaçao, Uzbekistan, Qatar And even Sweden with 2 points qualify. but there is no space for Italy (18 pts) & Poland (17 pts).

@EastCoastCalcio All so avoidable. Bastoni isn't himself when played out of position. Replay shows Mancini at fault for the red card sequence-lost his man completely. Palestra > Politano. The difference in energy and impact was night and day. All changes even fans knew were easy calls.

Worst part of being in the playoffs won’t even be the anxiety of the matches (though that will obviously be brutal).

Can I give some praise to a player I absolute despise? Dare I say…well done tonight by Gianluca Mancini. I’ve said this once and I’ll say it a hundred more times…I don’t care what club someone is from when they put on the Azzurri shirt, I simply demand they give all effort & play for the team. Mancini performed today. Bravo.

@gper55 @shawn_mcintosh We have seen this 3 games in a row with him. IMO he’s out of form, I certainly didn’t see anything spectacular from him. Bastoni was better. Calafiori was not at his top form either.
