Joe Biden was the most worker-friendly president of the postwar era. His economic policies quickly got the economy back to full employment. He appointed Lina Khan to run antitrust policy. He saved the NLRB from what Trump had done to it. And he was incredibly unpopular.

the tennessee situation is materially different from VA. It’s really grotesque spent most of the pod on it today. The state can barely be described as a democracy at this point i can understand why people
would be demoralized. That said, is it worse than Hungary which just defeated an authoritarian without mass violence? I don’t believe so. There are a lot of great people (jones, pearson, TN Holler) doing revolutionary organizing there without suggesting the answer may be violence. If anything violence there would probably empower the authoritarians elsewhere.

Do not think people should consider violence over virginia gerrymandering rulings. There are plenty of other remedies. In fact, Democrats are likely to win 8 seats out of 11 and control the house of representatives.

Zero people have tried to make Hasan Piker "the spokesman for Democrats." He showed up at one campaign event with one candidate in a primary and sat for some interviews. What's embarrassing is the number of people on here treating him like he's a 2028 contender or DNC Chair.

Setting policy aside, the worst thing about Mamdani’s mayoralty is his very obvious contempt for the wealthy—as if they’re evil simply because they’ve made money. He films himself outside a rich man’s home, *names the guy* and sneers. Terrible quality in a leader.

Non-residents who spend millions of dollars on NYC apartments help drive NYC’s economy. Most of the profit in condominium development is in the penthouses. The Ken Griffins of the world make NYC high end development viable, driving high-paying construction, brokerage, legal, marketing, and other jobs in NYC. We should be applauding Ken for spending $238 million in NYC, not attacking him for doing so.
Importantly, non-resident owners of NYC apartments who leave their apartments vacant for much of the year are not a burden to NYC schools, services, or other resources while they drive growth in retail sales, restaurants, theater, and other important drivers of our economy. They also often support NYC non-profits with donations.
Ken’s company is a major employer in NYC of very high paying jobs which drive a considerable amount of our tax base. We wouldn’t want him to move even more employees to Miami.
These non-resident owners also already pay a lot of taxes including mansion taxes, real estate taxes, sales taxes and more.
While @NYCMayor Mamdani likes the tag line ‘Tax the rich.’ Unfortunately, his policies will harm the constituencies he is supposedly trying to help.
I can’t imagine the NYC construction unions are excited about his plan.
