This approval marks a major milestone and allows us to move forward with building what we have been striving toward over the past two years. All relevant departments within the City of Durham have reviewed and approved our plans. We are sincerely grateful for your patience, support, and continued dua throughout this process. At this time, we are actively working on finalizing the construction drawings and ensuring full code compliance as we prepare for the next phase. With this approval now in place, we are entering a critical stage where timelines must be met in order to keep the project moving forward. Al-Hamdulillah, I just left Wake Correctional Institution in Raleigh, NC along with my brother Sh. Rasheed Barbee, Abu Anas, and Abu Abdur-Rahman from @MTWSNC While there, a brother took Shahadah--may Allah keep him firm. Another brother mentioned to Sh. Rasheed that he was affected by Yoruba and Ifa polytheism and he believed there was nothing wrong with this as a Muslim, until reading the book authored by Shaykh Rasheed on this topic; he was guided to the pure Tawheed of Allāh. People ask why is a book or conference needed speaking on certain groups. This is why. "If one person is guided at your hands this is better for you than red camels."

The late Abba Bivens is recognized as a pioneer of Hebrew Israelite sects such as ISUPK. The late Chief of Chiefs of the Israelite community Naphtali Ben Naphtali met 80 year old Bivens in 1968. He said Bivens invented the 12 Tribes of Israel chart as a hook to lure people in.

Commanding General Yahanna of the ISUPK explains how a then 18-year-old member of the Hebrew Israelites named Ahraya had a vision of the breakdown of the 12 Tribes of Israel. He told his vision to their leader Abba Bivens who ran with the vision and spread it as doctrine.

The Black Hebrew Israelites are not a sect of Judaism. They considered themselves to be the true Christians following the original laws given to the House of Israel by Jesus. General Yahanna (ISUPK), said, “We are real Christians”. They believe Jesus is the son of God, their Lord and savior, king of kings and the sacrifice for their sins. They pray in the name of Jesus. Some sects that will be discussed during this important seminar are within the fold of Islam. Other sects that will be discussed are outside the fold of Islam.

The Quranist held a seminar to abolish the Sunnah, entitled, "A Celebration of Heresy Conference: Critical Thinking for Islamic Reform", in Atlanta on March 28-30 of 2008. They gathered thirty “scholars” and activists and compiled a book to abolish the Sunnah. Dr. Ahmed Subhi Mansour said, "I began working on this topic in 1977. The Quranist movement has expanded considerably, especially with the advent of the internet. I estimate their current number at 10,000 students, researchers, and writers." Those who attended the seminar included Amina Wadud, Gay activist Irshad Manji, a Canadian of Pakistani and activist Asra Nomani, who calls for men and women to pray together in the same rows in mosques during the five daily prayers.

With sadness and acceptance of the decree of Allah we inform you of the passing of the muadhin of Masjid Tawheed wa Sunnah of Durham North Carolina, our brother, and friend Salik Baldwin. His janazah will be held at MTWS this Saturday February 21st after Dhur prayer inshaAllah. Brother Salik has been our muadhin for the past 18 years. May Allah forgive him and have mercy upon him and grant his family ease and patience.
