Lesson Recap: The Noble Characteristics of the Prophet ﷺ by Imam al-Tirmidhi Chapter: “What Has Been Reported Concerning the Prophet’s ﷺ Hijamah (Cupping)” 5 Dhul-Hijjah 1447 AH | May 22, 2026 CE Last night, we completed the chapter, “What Has Been Reported Concerning the Prophet’s Hijamah (Cupping).” The chapter discusses the permissibility of paying the hajjam (cupper), the areas of the body where the Prophet ﷺ would undergo cupping, and the preferred times of the month for it. We also covered several narrations, including the Prophet’s ﷺ statement: “The best treatment with which you cure yourselves is Hijamah,” or, “It is among the best of your remedies” (al-Bukhari 5371). Finally, we read that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ underwent cupping frequently, especially on the seventeenth, nineteenth, and twenty-first days of the month, and that the majority of the scholars held that it does not invalidate the fast. In our next lesson, Allah willing, we will begin the chapter, “What Has Been Reported Concerning the Prophet’s ﷺ Names.”
