@teachthemx3 High schoolers work after school and have extra curricular activities that take longer. They need to start their day earlier to have time for those things.

We could improve high school student performance by starting school at 8:30 instead of 7:00. I’ll never understand why elementary school starts later than high school. Elementary kids are up and energized by 6 a.m. Half of my first-period class is asleep, and another 20% is late. Each late entrance disrupts the lesson.
