#Somalia: Today in the El-Jale neighbourhood in the Marka district of Lower Shabelle, a residential house for #Somalia’s 9th President, @M_Farmaajo, was inaugurated. The house cost $295K and was funded by his supporters, naming it "Mahadsanid Madaxweyne" (thank you, President), as a move to express appreciation for his service as President.

I have watched a horrendous video encapsulating significant SNAF being chased by few aS fighters. Seeing that horrific video actually left me gobsmacked. The SNAF is in disarray, demoralized and debilitated. The fight against the vice group of aS requires meticulous strategy.

The shoes scattered here belong to young boys who were in a queue at the main gate of Damanyo Military Camp, hoping to be recruited into the SNA forces, but their lives were cut short by a Bajaj loaded with explosive materials. #Somalia.

Thread on torrential rains in #Mogadishu. The heavy downpour being experienced in Mogadishu last night, have starkly illuminated that we are not prepared enough to deal with the devestating floods. 1/7

My Statement on the #Somalia#Türkiye Oil Agreement 🇹🇷 🤝🇸🇴 There have recently been some misleading and inaccurate claims circulating about the oil agreement signed between Türkiye and Somalia. Unfortunately, these comments are not only far from the truth, but they also aim to damage the strong friendship and mutual trust built over many years between our two nations. As someone who has studied Somalia for many years, let me say this clearly: this agreement fully recognizes that all natural resources belong to the Somali people. Türkiye has no interest in claiming ownership of any Somali resource. It never has. Since 2011, Türkiye’s focus has not been what lies beneath the ground, but who lives above it – the Somali people. I could write pages about this, but the short version is: for Türkiye, the Somali people are always the priority. Let’s talk about the “90%” issue, which has been misunderstood or intentionally distorted. This is not about profit-sharing. It’s simply a standard cost-recovery mechanism. Türkiye’s national oil company, #TPAO, invests in exploring and extracting the oil. That means they spend money first, a lot of it, and they recover those costs from the oil that is found, if it is found. That’s where the 90% figure comes in. This portion goes to the contractor to cover expenses. It does not go to the Turkish government or any other institution in Türkiye. Now to a very important point: the 5% clause. Even if the oil discovered doesn’t fully cover the costs, Somalia is guaranteed to receive 5% of the value of the output. This is a protective clause to ensure Somalia gains something no matter what. And most importantly, after the costs are fully recovered, all the remaining oil belongs to Somalia. There is no clause in this agreement that gives Türkiye a share of the oil as profit. This agreement is based on international norms used widely around the world. There are no special privileges or unfair advantages given to Türkiye in any way. So I kindly ask everyone to be cautious and reasonable in the face of such disinformation. To my Somali brothers and sisters: you know Türkiye. You’ve seen what Türkiye stands for. You know better than anyone that the words of terrorist organisation linked accounts and other malicious actors should not be taken seriously. The relationship between Türkiye and Somalia is built on years of trust, shared experience, and mutual respect. We understand each other. We can talk, and we can work together. Trying to harm that relationship through misinterpreted technical details will benefit no one. @TCEnerji @aBayraktar1 @trpetrolleri @TC_MogadisuBE @TheVillaSomalia @HassanSMohamud

Sanad ka hor ayaan weydiiyay Professor @afyare_elmi waxa uu ka dhigan yahay in la ansixiyo heshiis aan la arag oo lala galay Turkiga. Maanta, ugu dambeyn, heshiiskaas ayaa shaley la horgeeyay Baarlamaanka Turkiga, waxaana soo baxay xog rasmi ah oo halis gelinaya kheyraadka qaranka iyo madaxbannaanida dalka.
