For International Audiences: New Systematic Review published for #ShockwaveReducer - Coronary Sinus Reduction for Refractory Angina Caused by Microvascular Dysfunction
The recently published systematic review by Drs @mtomaniak, @adribaran, and Adrian Włodarczak synthesizes evidence from 17 studies assessing the impact of #ShockwaveReducer implantation in patients with refractory angina due to coronary microvascular dysfunction, showing a consistent association with:
➡️️ Consistent improvements in microvascular function (IMR ⬇️, CFR ⬆️)
➡️ Reduction in angina severity (CCS class)
➡️ Better exercise capacity and quality of life outcomes
➡️ Low procedural complication rates across studies
While randomized data are still limited, ongoing trials are expected to better define the magnitude and clinical relevance of these benefits. A big thank you to the authors for contributing valuable insights into this important patient population.
