It'll be a short thread, I promise :) Helloooo, I'm Munachimso Onwumere, a writer, law student, and lifestyle/legal content writer. I love approaching writing as both art and craft, and I’m learning, improving, and connecting with people who love words as much as I do. ⬇️⬇️

Spiritual warfare 101 - No matter how overwhelmed you “feel” inside, never show the devil. You see, the devil is NOT Omniscient, so he does not know all things. The things he knows about us are things said and spoken of us. Or the things we let out from our mouths ourselves or by our reactions and actions. So while you may be overwhelmed in your soul, the way he gets to know is from your reaction. And because he is a wicked and oppressive entity, when he knows where it hurts, he robs it in the more. But responding in praise confounds him. This is exactly the rationale behind the idea that praise confuses the enemy. Because he can’t understand why his onslaught is not causing you to give up and give in. So beloved saints of God, regardless how you feel right now, find a way to release your praise ! “14 But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.” Psalm 71:14. You are BLESSED 🙂

But if I leave him, I don't know how I'll survive… January 29, 2022 This was the day I said yes to God. This was the day I gave my life to Christ. I remember walking back to my hostel after church and crying my eyes out — because I had broken up with my boyfriend that same day. I knew giving my life to Christ meant I had to stop being intimate, having s3x with him, so I typed that breakup message with tears streaming down my face. This boy was my safe place. If you grew up with parents who weren't really there for you, you'd understand exactly what I mean. But since that day, God has shown up for me in ways I can't even begin to explain. He comforted me. He met my every need. My love, I won't pretend it's easy; walking away from a relationship that doesn't honor God is one of the hardest things you'll ever do. It may feel like your whole world is falling apart. But I promise you, it won't. God is a good Father, and He will never leave you. He will not let you fall. If you're reading this right now, this is the sign you've been asking Him for. confidence. ~ ex-fornicator, now saved

I have taken time to reflect before speaking on the ongoing conversations linking my name to the Ochanya matter. I strongly condemn all forms of sexual abuse and gender-based violence. No individual, especially a child, should ever be subjected to such harm, and I stand firmly for accountability, truth, and justice in all such cases. I have seen many things being said about me online, some of which are not accurate or do not fully reflect what actually happened at the time. I understand the emotions surrounding this matter, but I also believe it is important that narratives are not built on assumptions or incomplete information. For clarity, in 2013, I was a student in boarding school in SS2 and had only just gone on vacation after my mock examinations. At the time, I was about 12 years old and was not present at the location where these events are being alleged to have occurred. This has been established in the course of legal processes. I did not witness any act of abuse as has been suggested in some narratives, and this position has also been reflected in the legal proceedings connected to this matter. At the time of these events, I was not in a position of authority or control over the situation. Where I had concerns, I did not ignore them, but the way events unfolded afterward was not within my control. All relevant information and documentation supporting my position exist within the appropriate legal channels and can be made available where properly required by lawful authorities. I recognise that people are asking questions, and I understand why. However, I respectfully ask that conclusions are not drawn without a full and fair understanding of the facts. This experience has taken a significant toll on my mental and overall well-being, and I have had to seek medical and professional support during this period. I remain firm in my truth. I would never witness anything of this nature and remain silent. I understand deeply the importance of speaking up for what is right. This is a sensitive matter that has already gone through legal processes, and I will not be making statements that could misrepresent that process or reopen wounds for those directly affected. I ask for fairness, restraint, and compassion in how this conversation continues. Thank you.

“The Ochanya matter.” Your cousin o. Your mum’s sister’s daughter. All of this, just to come back here and make money on this app? Or what exactly is the point? Because if you never tried to return to this account, all this shalaye wouldn’t even be necessary. You people already escaped the hands of justice. Sad, but that’s the reality. Now you are attempting to win in the court of public opinion too? No nau. You can’t.. Your cousin is dead. A child whose body was destroyed from years of alleged abuse by your father and brother, people you are still very much in contact with. The same brother that was declared wanted, yet you know his whereabouts even as we speak. That alone indicts your entire family including you and your mother for aiding and enabling the evasion of justice. Anyone else would have gone quiet. Stayed off this app. But this attempt to rewrite the narrative so you can return to normal, secure influencer deals and earn from this platform is deeply disturbing.

The first thing that stands out in your statement is the language you chose. You referred to the brutal rape and death of your own cousin as “the Ochanya matter.” Let’s be very clear: this was not a “matter.” It was the rape, torture, and death of a child. Reducing something that horrific to administrative language like it’s a dispute file or a political issue is deeply disturbing. Ochanya was a human being, a child whose life was destroyed in the most unimaginable way. The least she deserves is for her story to be spoken about with the gravity and humanity it demands. Your entire statement reads less like a search for truth and more like a carefully crafted attempt to protect your image. Much of it centers on how the conversations have affected you, your name, your reputation, your mental health, while the actual victim is mentioned only in passing. People are not asking questions because they enjoy dragging anyone online. They are asking questions because a child was abused repeatedly and died, and the circumstances surrounding it shocked the entire country. When something that horrific happens, people expect transparency, empathy, and moral clarity, not carefully worded distancing language. No one is above scrutiny when a crime of this magnitude happens within their immediate environment. That is not cruelty. That is society demanding accountability for a child who no longer has a voice. If you truly stand for truth and justice, then the conversation should not be about how unfair it is that your name is being mentioned. It should be about Ochanya, her suffering, the system that failed her, and the full truth about what happened. Because the real tragedy here is not the discomfort of public questioning. The real tragedy is that a child was raped, brutalized, and died, and even now, some people seem more concerned about reputations than about the life that was lost.

Some people are really struggling. A man brought his 3-year-old boy to the hospital. The child had been febrile and convulsing. He was asked to make a deposit of ₦100,000 before the boy could be admitted. Without saying much, he broke down. For five minutes, he cried bitterly Then he told us: they hadn't eaten in two days. There was nowhere he could get that kind of money. He said he would have let the boy die at home—but he didn't have the heart. Coming to the hospital was his last resort. It was as though cold water was poured on all of us. We quickly admitted the boy. We treated him for free. The hospital even sponsored his meals while he was on admission. --- Sometimes, it's good to let people see your vulnerability. Especially when you know you can't help yourself. Not everyone who walks through our doors is trying to scam us. Some are simply at the end of their rope. Thank God we listened.
