Dame Evelyn Glennie was born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland in 1965. Deaf since the age of 12, she taught herself to hear with parts of her body other than her ears. The virtuoso percussionist plays barefoot during live & studio recordings to feel the music.

With the grid system in NYC, you need to cross the road every couple of minutes but when it’s normal for vehicles to stop on the zebra crossings it’s nearly impossible to cross safely. Lack of dropped kerbs, inconsistency in tactile paving and steam vents makes NYC difficult🤯
