Had a good exchange with Romania’s Prosecutor General Alex Florenta on the new Cybercrime Convention and was encouraged by his strong commitment to advancing this agenda. @UNODC is ready to work with Romania to enhance international cooperation against organized crime.

Last weekend in Hanoi, history was made. Countries from every region came together to sign the first UN global Cybercrime Convention. Watch the highlights from this milestone moment ⬇️

The Signing Ceremony of the UN Cybercrime Convention just concluded in Hanoi with 72 signatories. Over two days, countries from every region stepped forward to join the first global treaty against cybercrime, showing that collective action has never been more critical.

I welcome the signing of the @UN Convention against Cybercrime – a vital global treaty to protect people in the digital world & the first criminal justice treaty in more than two decades. Now we must turn signatures into action. Let’s make cyberspace safe and secure for all.
