🔵 Haaretz: Israeli soldiers looting homes across southern Lebanon on a “crazy scale,” soldiers and commanders stationed inside Lebanon told the outlet. “According to the testimonies, as IDF soldiers leave Lebanon, they load stolen items onto their vehicles openly, without attempting to conceal them. ‘It’s on a crazy scale,’ one soldier said. ‘Anyone who takes something – televisions, cigarettes, tools, whatever – immediately puts it in their vehicle or leaves it off to the side, not inside the army base, but it’s not hidden. Everyone sees it and understands.’” Witnesses described troops taking motorcycles, televisions, tools, paintings, sofas, and rugs—often in full view, with no effort to conceal the theft.

"We can choke off China's🇨🇳 oil at any time we want,,,China has two weaknesses: energy and food. Both of them are vulnerable to our blockades.” -US🇺🇸 Rep. Carlos Gimenez The war on Iran and the proxy war against Russia in Ukraine were events to set up the coming war on China. While China advocates peace, the US is actively preparing to bring down China. Is China taking the threat of attack by a desperate Washington seriously enough?

China's industrial policy, planning, and R&D have been extremely successful; it is now leading in 66 of 74 critical technologies (89%). The US is only leading in 8 (11%). This is according to a December 2025 study by ASPI, the Australian Strategic Policy Institute. Keep in mind that ASPI is a viciously anti-China think tank that is funded by the Australian military, US government, and Western allies. ASPI publishes these reports in order to portray China as a supposed "threat" to the West. But regardless of the ulterior political motivation, this particular research is useful, and shows how China has made enormous progress in a very short time period. China watched all of this. China watched what happened to the countries that followed the Washington Consensus. It watched the structural adjustment disasters. It watched the privatization looting. It watched the deindustrialization of countries that opened up too fast. And China did the opposite. State-directed investment. Protected industries. Controlled capital flows. Gradual and selective opening. Technology transfer requirements for foreign companies entering the market. Long-term industrial strategy backed by political will. Eight hundred million people lifted out of poverty in four decades. The largest reduction in human poverty in recorded history. Using almost exactly the policies that the IMF and World Bank had spent forty years telling developing countries were inefficient, counterproductive, and contrary to the principles of sound economics. The Western response to this was not: perhaps we should examine our assumptions. The Western response was: China is a threat. China is cheating. China is breaking the rules. The rules. The rules they wrote. That China declined to follow. And that China's non-compliance with produced the greatest anti-poverty success in human history. The rules were not designed for poverty reduction. The rules were designed for something else. China just said so out loud by ignoring them.

The war benefited Iran in at least one aspect: The overt attention given to Iran for the last 50 days has completely shattered the fabricated image that Israeli-affiliated media had crafted of the country for decades. Many people have now realized that: 1- Iran is not run by mad apocalyptic “mullahs". Many Iranian officials are sophisticated technocrats, steeped in political science, literature, mathematics, international relations, and philosophy. They hold PhDs and strong academic credentials from renowned universities, and have actually authored books on Immanuel Kant, negotiations and governance. In fact, they are much more sophisticated than their Western counterparts. For one, none of them ever appeared on the Epstein list. That is precisely why they do not have to bend or bow before Israel or its network of lobbies. 2- The Iranian people are proud and patriotic. They are willing to risk their lives by forming human chains around bridges and critical infrastructure to protect their homeland. They have never welcomed, and will never welcome, foreign intervention. Neighboring countries were mistaken in assuming they would need to close their borders to manage an influx of refugees fleeing war from Iran. Not only did Iranians refuse to flee the war zone, but many living abroad actually returned home by land once the conflict began. 3- Iran is a resilient nation that has endured decades of illegal sanctions, sadistic “maximum pressure” campaigns, covert operations, and outright war. It stood tall, relied solely on itself, and built a formidable military, industrial, and scientific base. By contrast, countries with far stronger economies are already complaining about the economic fallout from the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and are growing impatient. Iran withstood their sanctions for nearly fifty years, yet they cannot tolerate fifty days of reciprocal economic pressure. Hopefully this reality will force them to recognize the depravity of their past policies. 4- Iran is not a state sponsor of terrorism. Its only “sin” has been to be the sole country on Earth that has firmly, openly, and proudly stood up to Israeli apartheid and genocidal policies. That is the real source of all the demonization. 5- Iran did not squander money—or the brief proceeds from temporary sanctions relief—on destabilizing the region. It invested in infrastructure instead. The sheer number of hospitals, airports, petrochemical plants, railroads, bridges, ports, pharmaceutical factories, and universities targeted in the war reveals exactly where that money was spent. 6- Iran did not seek war. It pursued serious diplomacy, only to be betrayed on multiple occasions. The United States withdrew from the JCPOA and then attacked Iran twice while new negotiations were underway. All the smears claiming that Iran fails to honor its international commitments or is prone to lying and cheating are pure nonsense unsupported by empirical evidence. 7- Iran’s foreign policy is guided by values, principles, and national pride rather than materialist “cost-benefit” calculations. Understanding this is essential to reaching any genuine deal. Otherwise, within a narrow “cost-benefit” paradigm, Israeli experts and think tanks will continue to rush to portray Iran’s intentions as hostile—just as they have done for decades by relentlessly disseminating the falsehood that Iran is seeking to build nuclear weapons.

VIDEO | "I received direct threats targeting me on my phone from the Mossad, from the Israelis, and they threatened to kill me. They were literally saying they would sever my head from my shoulders if I didn’t leave south Lebanon." In an interview recorded before her targeted killing, Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil, from the southern village of Baysariyyeh, reflects on the threats she received while covering Israeli aggression in south Lebanon for Al-Akhbar. "Before 23 September, I definitely didn’t take precautions and I didn’t pay attention to these threats, because I said if I’m going to do what they want, why would I let the Israeli enemy impose its own narrative on me? It brings journalists onto my land and promotes the narrative it wants, while preventing me from moving freely on my own land." Amal Khalil, along with her colleague Zeinab Faraj, was deliberately attacked and subsequently killed by Israel yesterday in the southern Lebanese village of Tayri. Zeinab Faraj was severely injured and, as per latest reports, remains in stable condition after undergoing emergency surgery.

Israel has killed more journalists than any other nation in history. More than the total number of journalists killed during the U.S. Civil War, WWI, WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War combined.
Al Jazeera English@AJEnglish

Al Jazeera’s Heidi Pett says journalist Amal Khalil received threats from an Israeli WhatsApp number during the last war, warning her to stop reporting or leave Lebanon “if she wanted her head to remain on her shoulders,” before being killed today in an Israeli attack.
