@MehtabKarta @rossiadam I worked in tech in Boston in 2016. They were VERY in for a while
English

@rossiadam AllBirds was never in and basically running at a massive loss to subsidize the lack of PMF. Could have been a profitable smaller brand, but I am quite sure founders made way more anyways off secondary etc following the path they did. I dont blame them at all.

There are a few areas I consider uninvestable because I just don’t understand them.
Fashion brands are one of them.
Why were these shoes “in” at some point? Why did they become undesirable?
No idea.

BREAKING: Allbirds to be acquired by brand management firm American Exchange Group in a $39 million deal. The company went public at a $2.1 billion valuation in November 2021.

@Kallimach0s @dollarsanddata $500k in Kirksville, MO is definitely upper class.
English

I don't really think geography is all that relevant. If you were making the same money in a VLCOL area in "flyover country," you aren't upper class for your city, because the more relevant point of comparison is national, not your immediate neighbors. There is simply a higher density of actually upper class people in NYC.
English

Someone earning $500k per year with $1M-$10M in assets is "upper" middle class in NYC (so still middle class). They don't fly private. They have a job.
This is obvious once you understand The Wealth Ladder. The true rich are those in Level 5 ($10M-$100M) and above.

If there is a genre I truly hate in the @nytimes it's the frequent pieces featuring folks with multi-millions in assets and multiple hundreds of thousands of dollars in yearly household income describing themselves as middle class, and being credulously understood that way, while professionals with healthy six figure incomes engage in poverty larping because, of course, if these other people are "middle class" then they must themselves be "poor" or "working class" or "just getting by." @coldtrafficgod Does CPC matter either? Or is ROAS only thing that matters?

bing ads is the most ignored money printer in ecommerce right now
900M+ monthly searches, a user base skewing older and wealthier, and most brands aren't spending a dollar there
we made a breakdown doc covering:
- the demographic breakdown of bing users and why they spend more
- ad copy frameworks built for 55+ high-income buyers
- shopping feed setup that actually works on bing
- full campaign structure from launch to scale
- bidding strategies that take advantage of low competition
the platform is wide open. almost nobody is running it properly
like + comment "BING" and i'll DM you the doc

@moseskagan I agree when young this is great, once you have kids though it's stupid, especially if you look like me.

If I were starting as a service business entrepreneur now, I would move to a low cost of living city with good public schools and a very rapidly growing population.
Keeping my own costs low would enable me to re-invest in the business.
And a rapidly growing population would mean I could grow my business without necessarily having to take market share from competitors.
English

needs to be some sort of baller buster account for customers who commit friendly fraud via chargebacks and other practices.
put their face up on a website and an instagram account, along with a database that biz owners can integrate with to block customers via name, email, address, credit card number so they can't purchase from you
absolute scum

@girdley @MediaKing I’ve never met a happier archetype than southern business owners making $500k-$1M and very involved with family, active social life, etc
English

@MediaKing It's also a southern problem in ths US - things are "easy" and people reach a certain level of aspiration and stop pushing. Much different than the coasts.
English

Came across this VSL. Crazy good. If I was 50+ I’m 1000% falling for this.
Give it a watch.

@TrafficBrokerX Helllllo ? Mr Traffic how can I assist with your issue today? Yes Mr Traffic. Thank you Mr Traffic
English

@MediaKing Any info on how you match a user to an offer? Is it by a specific stock, theme, etc? Automated flows or hammering specific segments with campaigns?
English

@patrickdichter @ohhratssss Just my 2 cents, that’s just not enough volume to know anything. We start every customer with 200 inboxes. That Andrew guy should be able to help you that already dm’d you.
