@singtoconley i cannot divorce mixing from the rest of the songwriting process, a heavy amount of expression lies there. I don't understand how so many people cut it off from the rest and are so easily able to hand it off to someone else to mix a song.

people get mad at me every time i call mixing/mastering a subjective art form while my bloody valentine "when you sleep" exists. do you think that song would have the same emotional impact if it was mixed like a green day song

You know the brain has nothing left in the tank for a dream when it has you stacking an entire dishwasher while someone criticizes and changes each thing. All to find out the dishwasher has been acting faulty and this may all be for nought.

@ECCOJAMMED Yes! I agree comes close to that, although their music is almost TOO pretty(? ) or perhaps it suspends in the air like a vapor rather then hearing a song form in the radio static. Joseph hammer is probably my favorite for this but he is more like crossing through radio stations

@ECCOJAMMED One of my favorite things in noise is finding hallucinatated melodies and full songs. Not many share that experience with me. I feel that a noise pop with empasis on noise and a whisper of pop would capture that.

there’s lots to be said about the cultish personality in the american bass scene, where unless your playing 100% dubstep all night people will whine in your dm’s. i played a decent amount of dubstep, despite this being billed a “club set”
