𝐈𝐂𝐀 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐃 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥   Director General of Immigration and Citizenship Agency, Mr. @M_Duhulow today officially launched the implementation of the National ID Card for Domestic Travel.

For every nation, border security is national security. In Somalia, border security is also a key element in the fight against al-Shabaab/al Qaeda and ISIS. Ambassador Riley was, therefore, pleased to have a very productive meeting today with @Icasomalia DG @M_Duhulow to discuss joint U.S.-Somalia programs, funded by the America people, to enhance Somalia’s critical border security. We very much appreciate our valuable relationship with DG Dhuholow, and the Federal Government of Somalia on this important issue.

The ICA DG Mr.@M_Duhulow chaired a critical meeting attended by the Directors of the Departments of Citizenship, Investigation, Borders Mgt, advisors, and office heads.

I attended the closing ceremony of the football tournament organized by the @Icasomalia in honor of the blessed month of Ramadan. I congratulate the Immigration and Residency Department for winning the tournament.

This morning I had a productive meeting with CID Director,Colonel Muhudin Osman.Our discussion focused on strengthening cooperation between our agencies, intelligence sharing and stepping up efforts against illegal migration & terrorism in the country.

This evening I attended a collective Iftar organized by @Icasomalia leadership to honor the holy month of Ramadan. I thanked our Officers for expediting emergency travel documents for our @SNAForce, I commend the bravery sacrifice of our soldiers in liberating our country.

The ICA is pleased to announce that, effective 31/03/2025 the FGS mandates all international airlines to provide Advanced Passenger Information & Passenger Name Record. We appreciate the @US2SOMALIA’s valuable collaboration in this important initiative.

I welcomed a delegation from the Finnish Embassy to my office, led by Ms. Emma Pajunen. Our discussion focused on strengthening our partnership. Our cooperation and knowledge-sharing is crucial to our country’s. We are committed to ensuring fruitful collaboration.

Today, I received in my office the Ambassador of the Government of Finland to Somalia, Ambassador Pirkka Tapiola, and his Deputy, Mrs. Elli Mikkola. We discussed strengthening cooperation in official training and enhancing border and immigration services.

Met with Mrs. Qurat Al-Aini, Deputy Director of Operations at UNSOS, to strengthen ICA-UN cooperation. I expressed gratitude for their support in Somalia’s reconstruction and shared ICA’s development plan on borders, immigration, and elevating the Somali passport’s profile.

Today, I engaged individuals with special needs to understand their challenges and enhance their access to immigration and citizenship services. Committed to equal service for all Somalis, the agency will create an office to support them and ensure inclusive service delivery.

I had a productive meeting with @iom_somalia Representative, Mr. Manuel M. Pereira, & his Deputy, Ms. Ptestage, to discuss enhancing migration cooperation and advancing programs to improve service delivery. I also thanked IOM and donors for supporting institutional development.

Today, I met with the Saudi Ambassador to Somalia, H.E. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Mawlid, to discuss enhancing security cooperation, migration facilitation, and curbing illegal immigration.

I signed a key cooperation agreement today with Interpol to combat organized crime, enhance travel security, improve ICA officers’ skills, boost ICA-Interpol collaboration, and aid in locating missing persons. A vital step for Somalia & beyond.

I met with Turkish Amb Alper Aktaş to discuss boosting Somalia-Turkey ties. We focused on easing immigration for Somalis traveling to Turkey and training Somali immigration officers. I appreciated Turkey’s support for Somalia’s state-building efforts & their role in our progress.
