Arsenal is a team built around Arteta's system, which relies on collective technicality rather than individuality. If 3 or 4 key technical players who make up that system are unavailable, the team suffers.

Related. Iwobi said in a recent podcast that this video right here was one of the reasons Fulham asked him to tone down the vlog thing. Of course himself and Smith Rowe are Arsenal boys, Sessegnon is a Spurs boy, so they were just winding him up… The next game after this video was against Tottenham. Fulham management felt like the vlogs were putting some form of pressure on them and probably shouldn’t look like they’re disrespecting Spurs bla bla bla, so they asked him to tone it down.

Maybe Gyokeres would by now be neck to neck with Haaland if he had these number of technical players around him all season to compliment his technical weakness. You can't have Martinelli, Hincapie, Zubimendi, and Madueke(no disrespect) behind him expect and him to score tonnes

A coward who folds and runs when he faces a challenge rather than solving the problems isn't worthy to be Nigeria's president because he's gonna be faced with too much to solve. Unfortunately, Obi just said he isn't a problem solver.
Lere Olayinka - Aresa 1@OlayinkaLere

“I’ve never stayed where there’s problem. I would rather be the loser and be called a coward than to stay where there’s problem.” — Peter Obi #ME: And he wants to rule Nigeria that has plenty problems?

@nonewthing Pls remove Saka from that list. He's a system player and generalist, not so good at 1v1 compared to the rest

@Buchi_Laba 🤣🤣🤣 see what Arsenal has turned this man and many of their fans to. Everyone is now emotional. I agree that the majority of the Arsenal players are overrated, but definitely not Rice in what he does best. SAKA, your favourite is the most overrated of the lots.

Yes. Declan Rice is having a bloody overrated season. The reason he’s not getting blasted regularly by the English press is because he’s English. Again! Bloody overrated season. He talks more than playing.

@SirJarus Getting into starting 11 of any team comes with some peculiarities and factors. e.g, James signing for Real Madrid meant Di Maria had to be sold, not because the former was better but to create room for d new pet. I think it has to be top 10 in his position, top5 is more than WC

Which of the following is the nearest yardstick to conclude a footballer is world class? A. He will enter the Starting 11 of any national team or club in the world B. He will enter the match day squad (11+5 subs) of any national team or club in the world C. He will enter the 25-man world cup squad of any team in the world D. He is top 5 in his position in the world E. He is top 10 in his position in the world F. None of the above (tell us).

@Buchi_Laba As usual, Arsenal has bottled it, and what has brought really brought them this far is to Arteta's credit. Arsenal lacks that 'A' class player in attack who opponents can fear, a title winning team needs at least 2, Arsenal has none. They need to make those signings to complete

WHEN WAS THE FVCKING LAST TIME AN ARSENAL PLAYER RAN A GAME! LIKE TOOK RESPONSIBILITY AND DID SOMETHING EXTRA SPECIAL! These players have bloods on their hands! No time to hype any of these unfortunate annoying spoil brats. I no send their papa! These nonsense people have bottled the league 50%!! Hope they step up and do the needed! Nonsense!

@tobyasky Gabriel, as good as he is, is very unsecured sometimes as he always struggles in physical duels with big strikers, unlike Saliba. Saliba handled Haaland well in the 1st half b4 switching to Gabi. He was just lucky, Haaland didn't have to go down b4 he's shown the red card.

If Haaland fell down after that Gabriel's incident, Gabriel would have got a red card. Haaland also mentioned this in his post-match interview. He said he doesn't need to fall, he's not that kind of player. Haaland literally saved him, because violent conduct is a 3-match ban, Arsenal would have missed him. Gary Neville even said it during punditry that he got a red card for that many years ago. We've seen this a lot, Haaland

@funnywalkinboi @MAA_Gunner The core of the team's best players left that year and took Wenger 2 years to build another team around Cazorla, Ozil, Ramsey, Arteta, and later Alexis to challenge for the big titles. They won the FA Cup in 13/14, 14/15, 16/17 and fell short for the PL in those periods as usual

@MAA_Gunner Penalty was super soft. This was probably the last season Arsenal truly were a team who tried to be a contender for big trophies under Wenger. Song should have booted the ball far away ln the 1st place. Allowed the situation to develop.

I swear one day I’m gonna have to make a thread of the most traumatic Arssnal moments. I’m confident if we had one this game, we would have won the league, because it would have closed the gap to 4 points & we beat United a month later too. Imagine RVP scores a penalty in the 98th minute to go 1-0 up & we still don’t win the game 😭 I still remember Eboue kept putting his hands on his head cos he couldn’t believe what he did. Wenger was fuming too. Was on his knees praying on the touch line for the Liverpool pen. Then at full-time he didn’t shake Dalglish’s hands & just had his arms out 😂. Then when he went to confront the referee, he told Wenger to go inside.
Liverpool On This Day@OnThisDayReds

#OTD in 2011: Dirk Kuyt scores a penalty in the 102nd minute to equalise at Arsenal after Robin Van Persie had opened the scoring in the 98th minute. Dalglish and Wenger nearly come to blows. Final appearance of Sotirios Kyrgiakos
