Later, I welcomed my brother, H.E. Félix Tshisekedi, who has joined us for tomorrow’s swearing-in ceremony. We held productive discussions on security, trade, infrastructure and petroleum cooperation between our two countries, including peace and stability along the common border in North Kivu and Ituri. We also reviewed the progress of key road projects that are important for trade and regional integration. I commend both sides for signing agreements that will directly benefit our people. African governments should not frustrate wananchi with unnecessary barriers to trade and movement. These agreements are a step in the right direction.
