Back in 2008, when Ghalibaf was mayor of Tehran, he attended the World Economic Forum in Davos to tout economic opportunities in his city. The New York Times ran a piece on him, describing him as a "presidential contender." Asked about relations with the U.S., he replied, "If the United States can change its unilateral approach and replace it with a bilateral approach, then we can have dialogue." An aide then explained to the reporter that Iran wanted the United States to treat it as an equal partner, not as a renegade nation to be brought into line. All these years later, Ghalibaf is arriving in Islamabad with the authority of a president and with a mandate to hold historic talks with the U.S.

🚩چپ باید به خودش افتخار کندجهان باید به چپ افتخار کندجهان آبادانی خود را مدیون چپ است و ویرانی خود را مدیون راست افراطی. 🚩چپ باید به خودش افتخار کند چون هرجا که انسانی ایستاد و گفت «من هم حق دارم»، ردپای چپ آنجا دیده می‌شود. هرجا کارگری حقش را طلب کرد، هرجا زنی برای برابری جنگید، هرجا کودکی به آموزش دسترسی پیدا کرد، آنجا صدای چپ خاموش نبوده است. 🚩چپ باید به خودش افتخار کند چون مفاهیمی که امروز بدیهی به نظر می‌رسند، روزی رؤیاهایی دور از دسترس بودند؛ از محدود کردن ساعات کار گرفته تا حق تشکل، از رفاه اجتماعی تا مقابله با تبعیض. این‌ها هدیه قدرت‌ها نبود، حاصل ایستادگی و هزینه‌دادن جریان‌هایی بود که نامشان چپ بود. 🚩چپ باید به خودش افتخار کند چون همیشه طرف ضعیف‌تر ایستاده، نه کنار قدرت. چون معیارش سود نبوده، انسان بوده. چون به جای توجیه نابرابری، آن را به چالش کشیده است. حتی وقتی شکست خورده، حتی وقتی سرکوب شده، باز هم ایده‌اش زنده مانده؛ چون ریشه در نیاز واقعی انسان دارد. 🚩چپ باید به خودش افتخار کند چون تاریخ را فقط روایت نکرده، آن را تغییر داده است. اگر امروز از «حقوق» حرف می‌زنیم، اگر از «عدالت» انتظار داریم، این زبان، زبان چپ است که وارد وجدان جمعی بشر شده. 🚩جهان باید به چپ افتخار کند، چون بدون آن، شاید هنوز بسیاری از انسان‌ها نه صدا داشتند، نه حق، نه امید.

The United Kingdom has endlessly appeased the criminal regime in Iran. The Prime Minister speaks of protecting the innocent civilians of Iran but failed to act to help stop the regime’s massacre of 40,000 innocent Iranians in January. Only an end to this regime - that brings terror to Britain’s own shores - will yield lasting peace and regional stability. Keir Starmer should follow in the footsteps of Churchill, not Chamberlain. He should support the Iranian people’s fight for liberty. The Iranian people will remember who stood with them in their hour of need and who stood against them. There is still time for the Government to change course: prosecute the IRGC that slaughters innocents, expel the illegitimate regime's ambassador, and act to support the people of Iran.

A Seattle man who shot and killed an eight-month pregnant Korean-American woman and nearly killed her husband when they were driving to work has been found not guilty by reason of insanity. Cordell Goosby m—rdered Elina Kwon and her unborn baby in June 2023 when they were stopped at a red light. Prosecutors did not charge him for killing the baby due to concerns about protecting abortion in the liberal state. After hearing testimony from defense medical experts that Goosby was "insane" at the time of the shootings, the prosecution agreed to have the case ended through the not guilty motion.
