@MartinSLewis So, a good time, in the current circumstances, to fix, Martin?

New energy fixes have just launched (7% less than yesterday) if you want to fix to avoid future hikes. They're still c2% more than the current Price Cap, but on 1 April existing fixes fall more than Cap, so after they'll be similar. Full market comparison: cheapenergyclub.com

I'm going to set out the conversation I had with the Metropolitan Police Press Office yesterday. People can judge whether their response represents an attempt to facilitate a legitimate journalistic query, or something else:
Me:
"Hi,
I'm writing about the above issue for tomorrow's paper [Mandelson].
I would like to know:
If the Met has any record of the reported theft of former Downing Street Chief of Staff Morgan McSweeney's mobile phone, as widely reported in the media.
If any efforts are being made to recover the phone given its significance to the investigation.
If any efforts have been made to obtain centrally held Government records of communications from the phone"
Many thanks

@MartinSLewis We cannot keep bailing people out for ever single world event. If we do, taxes will forever be increasing (they are already at the highest level ever). We are fast becoming a nation of economically illiterate welfare claimers. FFS!

As a supporter of Sheffield United Football Club, I unequivocally agree. Pricing ordinary fans from attending games.
Hull City Disabled Supporters Association@HullCityDSA
Hull City DSA are appalled at the ticket prices for fans travelling to Bramall Lane next month. £24 for a child is unaffordable and £38 for an adult the same. For fans with limited budgets this is hugely unacceptable @EFL
English

@plusone14099137 Thought this season they charged us less? Might be qring. But we should all unite against ever increasing prices. It's getting ridiculous tbh.

You couldn’t make this up. John Ebo, the £85,000 HR boss of Leeds city council, has emailed employees offering counselling in a “safe space” to deal with any stress employees suffer due Nigel Farage visiting the city next week.
Ebo said in his mail; “No doubt you will have picked up in the news that Nigel Farage and Reform are holding an event/rally.
“ I am mindful such events on colleagues and would ask that we enable safe conversations for colleagues such as Wellbeing network chats.”
In turn the email was forwarded to the council’s Race Equality Staff Network who then added; “Be vigilant if you are in the city that day.”
Perhaps Mr Ebo should detail to his council taxpayers what he does all day for his money as it’s clear from that email there’s not much going on either between his ears or in his department.
The man’s a bloody fool.

My friend tried to withdraw £20k from his high street bank & their response was shocking
For 30 years he’s has been a loyal customer of this major bank
He called to withdraw the money & they said no, you have to come into the branch
He went into the branch & asked asked to withdraw the £20k and they asked 'what it’s for'?
He said ’none of your business, it’s my money’
They said ‘unless you can tell us exactly what the money is for, you cannot withdraw it'
This should shock & terrify you, because your own money isn’t even yours anymore

And what this means in practice @UKLabour is that taxes will increase massively. Again. Got to somehow pay for all the "free stuff."
The Labour Party@UKLabour
After years of Tory austerity, we’re backing councils to fix the basics - with a new £18 million fund to make sure kids have somewhere safe to play.

@bphillipsonMP "Government funded?"
What a cunt🤡 you are. You mean "taxpayers money."

@AlanPickard1889 They ask for feedback and then don’t want feedback that they don’t like. Best way to make an atmosphere is let everybody between 18-25 in for 15 quid but they won’t do that

@bsd_junkie @TheRealJamieKay My comments aren't. They're about the duplicity of politicians. People get angry about one set of politicians making promises they do not keep, but when another set of politicians lie and dont keep promises, they look the other way. Blinkered by ideologies. Me? They are all CUNTS
English

@Mac1965 @TheRealJamieKay And the thread is about Reform UK councils.
English

@bsd_junkie @TheRealJamieKay Great 'whataboutery' reply. You replied to ME. My debate is about politicians promising one thing and doing something else. Starmer PROMISED he would not raise council taxes. He lied. They all lie. Its what they do. And stupid, low IQ people believe them. Educate yourself kid 👍
English

@Mac1965 @TheRealJamieKay Is whataboutery your best retort to the fact that Reform UK are inept?
English

@Mac1965 @TheRealJamieKay I know some that said they would be cutting taxes.
