The City of Kansas City tweeted and then deleted a dig at Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker on May 15.

@CollinRugg Was on a 757 this weekend going home and I shit you not, we were delayed because they had to JUMP START one of the engines from an “auxiliary battery”. I have no idea if this is a normal thing but the crew had already shut the doors and did not seem willing to let folks off.

JUST IN: Boeing offers condolences after a passenger was killed on a Boeing 777 plane, says their “thoughts” are with the passengers and crew.
In total 30 people were injured and a 73-year-old British man was killed.
The incident happened after the plane fell a whopping 6000 feet.
“Suddenly the aircraft starts tilting up and there was shaking so I started bracing for what was happening, and very suddenly there was a very dramatic drop so everyone seated and not wearing seatbelt was launched immediately into the ceiling,” a passenger said.
“Some people hit their heads on the baggage cabins overhead and dented it, they hit the places where lights and masks are and broke straight through it.”

Hot take: it is entirely plausible to me that whoever was running the @KansasCity Twitter account was tired of seeing the city tagged in posts about Harrison Butker and so innocently responded with this.

@doctorow Grew up 5 min from where the Charleston plant is located. They moved there when I was 13 and absolutely changed the face of the city. I left as soon as I graduated. It feels vindicating to see all of this damning evidence come out against them.

Boeing's 787 "Dreamliner" is manufactured far from the company's Seattle headquarters, in a non-union shop in Charleston, South Carolina. At that shop, there is a cage full of defective parts that have been pulled from production because they are not airworthy.
