Good morning Lagos, I believe that you all watched the Governor of Lagos State, @jidesanwoolu on Channels TV, last night. Here are some of the highlights in case you missed out on the one-hour long interview: 1. Lagos will pay N85,000 as minimum wage. It would be my joy to further increase it to 100,000 by next year. 2. We have tripled our budget size since we came on board in 2019. Today Lagos is doing N2.3 trillion, with a budget performance of more than 90% year on year. Our administration is probably going to close this year's budget at N2.5 trillion. Next year, the administration intends to do N3trillion. 3. We have developed robust integrated urban mass transportation system in Lagos, with rail, BRT buses, water transportation, taxis, last mile buses and in all public transportation services. 4. Everything is ready on the construction of the fourth mainland bridge except money. Fund is delaying the take off. 5. Work has begun on the alternative Airport at Ibeju-Lekki. 6. Lagos being ranked high in terms of good nightlife is jubilation but I am more concerned about how to sustain the economy of the metropolis. 7. My administration has taken different measures to provide relief for Lagos residents amid the prevalent hunger and hardship in Nigeria. While I hate to compare Governors in terms of performance, one fact is crystal clear and that’s that Governor Sanwo-Olu is outperforming himself in terms of governance. While Governance goes on sabbatical during most Governors’ 2nd term in office, my Governor is working harder to bring a good deal to Lagos. Surely Lagosians made the right choice by not entering a one-chance bus in the last election. Congratulations, Lagos. #ForAGreaterLagos

VP Shettima Arrives in Sweden for a 2-Day Visit * Trade, investment, ICT, education, mining, agriculture top agenda Vice President @KashimSM has arrived in Sweden for a 2-day working visit aimed at boosting trade and bilateral relations between both nations. The Vice President is accompanied by the Plateau State Governor, Barr. @CalebMutfwang, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador @YusufTuggar, and some heads of government agencies and parastatals. The visit, which is at the behest of President @officialABAT, will see the Vice President engage in high-level talks with key government officials. He is also slated to meet with Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and the Swedish Prime Minister. Targeted areas of strengthened collaboration between Nigeria and Sweden that will be pursued by the Vice President include ICT, digitalisation, education, sustainable transport, agriculture, and mining. The Vice President is expected back in the country on Saturday.
