@Pandeism I'm trying to decide if the better term would be "domesticated" or "tamed." All social structures exist to tame the wild human infant into a rule-following, productive, citizen adult human. But I also think "domestication" has also occurred over the course of our evolution.

@KeyTryer Not that I blame them entirely. The technocapitalists have a habit of fueling their businesses with unrealistic hype, and so in the short term skepticism and cynicism tend to be warranted. But the march of technological development continues all the same.

@KeyTryer I feel like a lot of tech-critics on the left feel like creationists these days. "Well, I accept some gradual change, but this idea of large scale transformation is pure fantasy."

I don't like the tech-fascists and tech-racists online, but I feel like the opposing side don't even believe in the future as a concept. They don't imagine a world that looks even slightly different from the world in 2025. It's the Y2K culture time-trap as they call it.
