I was asking @ahadwingolf why I’ve never caddied a round for him, and he said I could get on the bag at a Fall event. Do I hold him to it? 1 like and I’ll do it.

Thoughts from Cognizant
-I gave myself a chance heading into the back nine on Sunday and that’s all I could ask for. I’m very happy of how I handled myself mentally. I felt calm on the golf course but didn’t execute some shots and putts. My speed on my putting was slightly off. I lost by 4, but a shot here and there on Sunday and I really could have had a chance. Congrats to Joe! He’s a good kid.
-PGA National isn’t one of my favorite courses but I managed the entire week very well. Over these last few weeks, every part of my game has gained strokes which I’m really happy about. I feel like different parts of my game can step up when one isn’t as good for the day.
-Those greens on the back nine were no joke. They were really crusty and not even brown, they were white haha. The putter kept sliding on the grass because the wasn’t much friction. I needed to give it some pace to give a better chance at making the putts but felt hard to do when they were that fast and bumpy.
-I was way more nervous Saturday night and Sunday morning than on the golf course. I didn’t sleep as well so had some time to kill. It’s crazy how slow time goes sometimes. Watched some YouTube, read, meditated. Once I got to the course and got my routine started, I felt much better.
-The rye grass overseed obviously made the chipping easier. You can play higher softer shots with way less trepidation. In yrs past, even the fairways were half sand half Bermuda. The run offs near the green were much easier to chip from. They also don’t run as far away from the hole. I’m going to guess it’s not going to be like this next yr but who knows.
-Berger and Spieth will be on the Ryder cup team 🔒
-My only regret Sunday was my bunker shot on 14. I got too conservative because I knew it was super fast past the pin. Lead to a bogey which basically ended my chances.
-Jake Knapp’s swing is even cooler in person haha. Stingers all day
-Onto Bay Hill for the API! Haven’t played in a while so excited to check it out.

A few months ago, wife tells me that we’re going out to a couples dinner with a new friend. “She’s so great. I love her. And her husband played hockey.”
“Cool.”
I like and appreciate live hockey. Always watch Olympic hockey. Love that the players seem to be out there for each other and the love of the game. But I wouldn’t call myself a hockey fan.
We meet the couple at Quiet Woman. Place is jumpin’. It’s hard to hear. But the guy couldn’t be nicer. Katie and her new friend are catching up while I’m getting to know “Ryan.”
“Katie says you played hockey?”
He couldn’t have been more humble. I had to drag it all out of him. Goalie. Played 18 years. Mostly Sabres. HALL OF FAMER! Played in two Olympics.
I was like, WTF?!
I mention that I never turn down tickets. That TV doesn’t do hockey justice. And that I watch all Olympic hockey.
He says he played in 2010 and 2014 Olympics.
I circle back to 2010, when Crosby scored the goal in overtime. Who want watching that game?!?!
“I remember,” he says. “I was the goalie.”

It was Ryan effing Miller!!! He was so good that year he was the MVP of the tournament.
I got home and YouTubed all of the highlights from that gold medal game. As USA is up against Canada tonight, during an intermission, I highly recommend watching those clips. This guy was and still is a legend. And an incredibly nice person. (And plays golf.) 🇺🇸

@EdHand89 I looked back at the last 30 Super Bowls there was not a less competitive one the Atlanta Patriots one would’ve been if not for the comeback
English

@Mike_kim714 Also, there should be a place where spectators and viewers can see what brands each tour player wears shoes, hat, pants, etc. Sunglass lol
English

@Mike_kim714 I think I’ve tweeted this to you before but would love to see a podcast of you talking about day-to-day life on tour… What kind of stuff does the tournament provide at each stop? Does different tour stops do different things. How does the tour communicate with players? I’ll help
English

@Mike_kim714 Congrats Michael I hung onto every swing you took. I’ve become a huge fan of yours mostly because of your honesty and your social feed. Keep it up. You’ve got a lot of new fans! BTW love the shades!!

Thoughts from WM (a bit long ⚠️)
-Really proud of the way I played this week. My game didn’t feel amazing after the first day but scrapped it around. Figured it out as the week went along and couldn’t be happier with how I handled the mental side of playing in contention in the weekend.
-I wish I could better describe what it’s like watching Jordan spieth’s ball roll on the green. It’s like his golf ball has eyes and it’s actively trying to go in the hole haha. It’s fun to watch him golf as you never know what you’re going to get. That par on 11 was dirty but Mav and I were on the side talking about how this would be the most Spieth par before he hit his 3rd… and of course he made par. Maverick also can really roll it. A bit more drippy speed with him.
-After listening to the NLU pod with Joe Mayo, I reached out to him and asked for a chipping lesson. I had one of the shallowest AOA on tour and we steepened it up some. I went from about -3 to -7ish. It wasn’t too complicated, a lot of set up and club working way more vertical. This week with the overseed rye, it’s very forgiving which made the change pretty comfortable. Idk how I would have felt if it was tight Bermuda. Regardless, i had better contact which lead to better distance control and one of the key reasons why i was able to go bogey free for 57 holes and one bogey in 72. 9th for the week on SG: around the greens. Will keep at it.
-16th hole is just really cool. Yeah, they prob shouldn’t throw stuff on the green but the players feel it, the crowd can feel it, it’s a setting unlike any other. It’s exciting as a competitor. I think it’s awesome. So many tournaments try to replicate it but it’s obviously not close to here. It’s honestly a bit of a bland hole without the setting haha
-TPC Scottsdale overall is just a great designed course. Enough desert to make you think on every single tee shot. Enough green contour to make you think. Great hazard placement. Risk reward galore out there. You can make birdies and bogeys in bunches.
-Friday, I had a really bad warm up, driver was terrible, so much so I switched my driver setting from D1-A1 with about 10min to go to my tee time. Something I have never ever done in my career. I had switched it earlier in the week and went back to the setting I had prior.
-The reason I switched was I was hitting it well on the really good ones but tended to miss a bit too much to the left at times. I wanted it to be 10% better but it got way worse. Funny how golf works this way sometimes.
-HUGE Thank you to my followers for giving me support during the WM. Heard lots of them giving me a shout during the week.
-Onto Genesis and Torrey (again). Looks like the weather is going to be really tough Thursday. Will try to keep it rolling.

What is growing the game more? DeChambeau putting on a clinic in India or Rory and Tiger playing simulator rounds?
Amey Kulkarni@im_Amey18
