@Noxgarm China exists in real life. That doesn't make it NOT WEIRD if a Chinese person were to appear in a European fantasy setting with a technology level that does not include cheap and frequent air travel. Even "Chinatowns" were still rare until a few decades ago.

@AA_est1 @theliammmayo @joncstone my earlier point being that reduction in commuters allowing the housing instead of car parks would mitigate NBER's 5% with the new housing able to enter the market. EZ was definitely a gross exaggeration of how much would have to happen to make that work but character limits 🤷

But rent control also lowers supply, which would make it tougher for people to move to the city. Supply of rental properties in Berlin crashed after they introduced rent control.
