I was brokenhearted 💔listening to @CathyMohlahlana interview with Prof Mahomed from Charlotte Maxeke Hospital. I found myself teary-eyed that the marginalised and vulnerable members of our society are subjected to this cruelty by those that have access to private health care

I recall growing up in Ceza Mission, where the hospital in which Mangosuthu Buthelezi was born was once a fully functional and well-run institution. I was also born there, and during those years, people my age grew up without needing medical aid because the healthcare services were reliable and accessible.
I still remember being admitted as a child after reacting to Penicillin. The hospital linen was always clean, there were no doctor shortages, and we even had soldiers deployed there who were practicing doctors. It was a time when the healthcare system truly served the community with dignity and care. This was during the apartheid era..

Pandor is experiencing real life post public office, and now knows what us mere mortals go through in South Africa. She spent most of her years in office worried about Middle-East issues ignoring ordinary South Africans. Do you remember she was the Minister of Home Affairs?
