It capped a dramatic tournament run for the Cardinals, who were a No. 1 seed. The team overcame injuries and showed incredible depth and toughness. Peyton Siva was named the Final Four Most Outstanding Player. He was a senior leader, known for his defensive intensity, playmaking, and leadership. He went on to have a solid NBA career. Luke Hancock earned Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four honors as well (the first time a non-starter won it). He came off the bench with clutch shooting and energy, especially in the championship game. This cover represents the peak of Louisville’s 2012–13 season under coach Rick Pitino — a story of redemption, brotherhood, and overcoming adversity in college basketball’s biggest stage.
