The International Day of Pink aims to raise awareness about bullying, particularly targeting the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and promote inclusivity and acceptance. This year's theme is "Re-Emergence," honouring the bravery of 2SLGBTQIA+ activists.

April marks the celebration of Sikh Heritage Month, a time to honor and appreciate Sikh culture, faith, and traditions. Throughout this month and beyond, we recognize the vibrant contributions of the Sikh community to the growth, prosperity, and innovation in Canada, while embracing their unique vision of flourishing.

On the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade, we reflect and educate ourselves on how the Americas stole not only the labour but also the knowledge, skills, and ingenuity of African peoples. While we remember and learn from history, we must also continue to take action against anti-Black racism in our communities today.

Today, on Black Mental Health Day, PDSB celebrates the strength and resilience of Black staff, students, and families. We are committed to fostering identity-affirming spaces where every member of our community feels a deep sense of belonging. We will continue to provide culturally responsive supports, resources, and opportunities that empower and uplift, while creating an environment where mental well-being is prioritized and celebrated.

Tonight Muslims around the world begin the celebration of Ramadan, a time of festivity, community, charity & prayer. Those who observe will fast from food & drink from dawn to sunset. Ramadan Mubarak to those celebrating.
