Macron, and everyone claiming that Iran is like Iraq or Afghanistan, is a liar. Iran is not an Arab country; it is not a tribal society. It has an immense secular and anti-religious population, and the country's minorities are dispersed along its periphery. Macron is simply a coward.

French President Macron: Iran is a very bad regime — no discussion about that. I disagree with them on a lot of topics. But I don’t believe that we will fix the situation just by bombings or by military operations. Look at what happened with this type of operation in Iraq, in Afghanistan, in Libya — we never delivered. Never. Even after 20 years. So you have to respect the sovereignty of people. If people want to change a regime, they want to react, step up, they can do so.

They parade around, sowing fear and threatening massacres, while chanting their propaganda in the face of our people. This is the ultimate disgrace of an anti-Iranian regime that, in order to survive, has handed the country over to foreign occupiers. This is the trampling of a nation’s pride and a blatant insult to the blood of those who defended the homeland for eight years against Iraq. Shame on every man in military uniform who stands beside the invading terrorists of Hashd al-Shaabi against the great nation of Iran. Where is the Iranian Army? Where are the veterans of the eight-year war with Iraq? Where has Iranian military honor gone, that Iraqi terrorists now lord over the lives, property, and honor of Iranians from Khuzestan to Tehran? Extremely alarmed to see the scenes from Iran today of Iraqi proxy militias (PMF) entering Iran under the guise of “aid.” These are forces that have a documented track record of slaughtering Iranians in the streets. The regime is literally importing foreign forces to kill Iranians and into wage war for them. This cannot be for any good purpose. Why are these convoys not being struck by the US and Israel?

The US asked France for help to open the strait and France said "no". The UAE asked for a resolution to open the strait with force and France said "no". Now, France has made a deal with Iran and French ships are passing through the strait freely. France logic: why fight when you can just make a deal and pass without stress?? Be wise like France!

As a European, I am not afraid that the USA will leave NATO. We already know that they do not have good intentions to Europe and that we, therefore, have to build our defence to be able to fight without the Americans. We are well on our way and it will happen a lot faster if the USA leaves NATO officially. Russia is too weak and small to be a long term threat to Europe. They simple can not match what we can produce. As long as we keep Ukraine from falling, Russia is also not a threat to us in the short term. So if the USA leaves NATO, it is simple for us: Keep Ukraine from falling at all costs and build up European defence and weapon production as fast as humanly possible. We can and we will do that and Europe will be absolutely fine and safe.

I knew Dr. Kamal Kharazi from my time in cognitive science. He has a PhD in industrial psychology from the University of Houston, and he used his connections to build something like an NIH for cognitive science in Iran — funding research, founding institutes. Today, his home was bombed. His wife was killed. He is critically injured. Either this was indiscriminate — bombing residential neighborhoods — which is terrifying. Or it was targeted — assassinating an 80-year-old academic-diplomat in his home — which is also terrifying. There is no good version of this story. And now I'm thinking about my other colleagues still in Iran.

The bloodthirsty regime in Iran is preparing to commit yet another unforgivable crime. Reports confirm that at least five sons of Iran who courageously took to the streets on January 8th and 9th—Mohammad Amin Biglari, Shahin Vahedparast Kolowr, Abolfazl Salehi Siavashani, Amirhossein Hatami, Ali Fahim, and potentially more—have been moved from their ward and transferred to an unknown location for likely execution. These young men are condemned not for anything they did, but because of what they represent. This regime’s sham courts do not seek justice, they seek to terrorize Iran into silence. They will fail. I call on @drmaisato and @UN_HRC and other international human rights institutions to urgently intervene to save the lives of these innocent young heroes.
