Liam Rosenior is cooking the same football Julian Nagelsmann built his entire career on. And nobody has connected the dots. 🔄 Fluid formations — back 3 ↔ back 4 in-game depending on the moment 🎯 Central overloads over traditional wide play ⚡ Fullbacks/wing-backs as attackers, not defenders 🧠 Obsessive build-up from the back with short passing sequences 🔥 High press to win the ball back immediately 🧬 No touchline wingers — attacking midfielders in the half-spaces instead Nagelsmann did this at Hoffenheim → Leipzig → Bayern → now runs Germany. Rosenior did this at Hull → Strasbourg → now runs Chelsea. "Mini Mourinho" 🤝 "Le Professeur" The blueprint is identical. The trajectory is matching. The only question is how far Rosenior takes it. 📌 Remember this tweet.

@ammandev Personally, I think he's right not to go for Sesko, Everton backline bar Gardner are fairly physical and Beastly. Utilize Mbeumos and Amads pace and Cunhas shithousery is all but perfect. Sesko super-sub to hit when those let's get tired is an all but perfect tactics imo.

Surprised to not see Sesko start, but the fluidity of that front three is likely to cause Everton far more problems than they did v West Ham - as the individual battles are more suited to us. Let’s see how they get on… 🙌

@SkySportsPL Merson acting shocked that Arsenal gave the ball away cheaply against a team with 10 points all season like that's the headline. The headline is they were 2-0 up and couldn't close it out. Again. Third season running the mentality cracks when it matters.

@ammandev Guardiola sat at home watching Arsenal throw away 2 points against a team with 10 points all season. City's game in hand could make this a 2-point gap. He's not even doing anything and the title race is coming to him 😂

@TheAthleticFC Arsenal have now drawn 7 of 27 league games. That's 14 points dropped to draws alone. Last season they dropped 21 points from winning positions... joint worst in club history. It's not bad luck anymore. It's a pattern. And City have a game in hand. 🍼🍼💦

Arsenal are five points clear at the top of the Premier League. They won't feel like they are this evening. Mikel Arteta's side drop more points in 2026 and dangle a carrot in front of Manchester City. A spirited fightback from bottom side Wolves, who came from two goals down to draw 2-2, may have blown the title race wide open.

You've just listed 6 midfielders at Newcastle, 6 at Liverpool, 8 at Spurs and none of those teams are above us. We're 4th with a 36-year-old Casemiro in a double pivot. Carrick flipped the system so Mainoo sits deeper and Cas pushes forward. It's working. The man's been called back to Brazil's starting XI under Ancelotti. The summer isn't about 'completely transforming.' Casemiro walks, that's £350k/week freed. Maguire too — another £200k. We don't need a whole midfield roster 2/3 smart acquisitions with elite 6 and one 8 who can carry the ball. Anderson, Baleba Wharton, Matteus Fernandes, Stiller, João Gomez, Ederson, Ayyoub Bouaddi the optional list is endless... Imo id happily take Ederson, Matteus Fernandes. Wharton. All affordable with £120m.

I am not sure if this is correct question. We don’t want to replace Casemiro. We want to improve. What is needed if we qualify for the CL? 🔺Newcastle have Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali, Jacob Ramsey, Joelinton, Miley, and Joe Wilcox in their midfield — and it hasn’t been enough. 🔺Liverpool have Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Szoboslai, Endo, Curtis Jones and Florian Wirtz in their midfield — and it hasn’t been enough. 🔺Tottenham have Bentancour, Joao Palinha, Bissouma, Bergvall, Archie Grey, Connor Gallagher, Xavi Simmons, James Maddison and Pape Mata Sarr in their midfield — and it hasn’t been enough. And so forth. We have Mainoo and Ugarte. I also think we must look at it from this perspective. On 21 May 2025, Tottenham beat us 1-0 — qualifying them for Europe while sentencing us to only playing in the PL. We are currently 16 pts ahead of Tottenham in the PL and we have pissed away a lot of points. They have 10+ injuries. If we would have won that game on 21 May 2025 — I have to be honest, I think this would have been reversed. Sure we would have signed 1-2 more players. But we would have played our top guys till they wore out, we would have had 2x injuries, etc etc etc. We saw it against West Ham — not getting a week rest showed so much. I don’t think that it’s only Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle who are struggling. Arsenal can’t score from open play. City is so far from their peak. Long story short — if we don’t completely transform our squad this summer — we could easily be looking at finishing in the bottom half of the league in 26/27 EVEN if we replaced Casemiro with like Rodri.

In the second instalment of a three-part series examining Manchester United's midfield, we explore who the club should consider in the transfer market when replacing Casemiro this summer. Using data to profile what Casemiro brings to the team, @MarkCarey93 and @ThomHarris_ pick similar, suitable targets — in the Premier League and beyond. From Carlos Baleba and Sandro Tonali to Atalanta's Ederson, Mamadou Sangare of Lens and a former Stoke City player... 🔗 nytimes.com/athletic/70519…

Selling Woltemade after one season would be the most Newcastle thing Newcastle have ever done. 10 PL goals, 24 yrs old, a goal every 178 minutes in his debut English season. Stuttgart didn't even register him for the CL. Six months later he had 17 goals and a cup final winner. Let him cook👨🏾‍🍳👨🏾‍🍳

@UnitedStandMUFC @ChrisWheelerDM Two different budgets depending on CL qualification? This man has sacked two managers in 15 months, spent £30m+ in compensation doing it, and we're supposed to believe the BUDGET is the problem? The budget isn't the issue. The man writing the cheques is.

🗣 @ChrisWheelerDM: "United’s budget this summer will be night and day depending on whether they qualify for the Champions League. They’ll effectively be working with two different budgets, two different shopping lists and two completely different plans. "If United secure Champions League football and £100m-plus, that would be transformative. It would put them back at the top table in terms of the players they can attract and the salaries they can offer. Without a top-four or top-five finish, could United afford to pay Elliott Anderson’s wage demands? I’m not so sure." [@UnitedStandMUFC]

I think you misunderstood the context of my message. It's the idea and principles around traveling and PR built around it... Also don't forget it's world cup year. The facts as it stands, "no manager/Head Coach", unprepared squad, lack of genuine preseason prep. The Saudi pre-season travel is just as much waste of time and the US tour we did last season... 40-60% was PR and events etc. I want this team to succeed as much as the next fan, I'm simple sick of the mediocre level we've been at for years, but get your ducks in order and focus on the ball not the money grabbing aspect... Because any fan thinking "well, that's £18m re-investment back into the club" WAKE UP and smell the coffee our ownership will pocket every penny

@NeilCronin92568 @DeadlineDayLive @TimesSport Totally agree. It says alot about the league this year, teams beating each other left right and center... It also truly helps that nothing else to play for means you've got full focus on the league.. so anything less than top 4 would be unacceptable

@MaestroMatchday @AdamMcKola I for one thought Sancho could light up Old Trafford. As it turned out either the stage was too big, the lights too bright; or the balance was never quite right, or maybe his face just didn’t fit, who knows. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out.
