RITUAL CHAIN -TECHNOLOGY OVERVIEW (PART 2)
1. RITUAL CHAIN-OVERVIEW ARCHITECTURE
Ritual Chain is a Layer 1 blockchain built from the ground up for AI and other forms of expressive compute.
Its goal : is to bring AI models and complex computation fully onchain in a native way -not through jerry-rigged systems or oracle wrappers.
The team’s starting point came from two earlier experimental products: Infernet, the first oracle network designed for AI, and Frenrug, a multi-agent experiment capable of performing onchain actions autonomously.
Both proved to be successful proof-of-concepts, but they also quickly revealed a fundamental limitation: existing blockchains are not practical deployment environments for AI workloads.
That realization became the foundation for designing an entirely new chain from scratch.
2. NODE SPECIALIZATION
In traditional blockchains, every node is generally expected to execute the same type of computation on relatively similar hardware.
@ritualnet breaks this model.
Nodes on Ritual can actively choose which workloads they want to process based on their hardware capabilities and proof-generation capacity, and are rewarded accordingly.
This creates a network that naturally incentivizes participation from both high-performance nodes and resource-constrained nodes.
The result is a significantly more efficient network, where each workload is routed to the hardware best suited to execute it.
The image illustrates the overall architecture of Ritual Chain.
The central core is the Layer 1 blockchain, surrounded by 3 specialized node types: AI Inference Node (large), ZK Proving Node (medium), and TEE Node (small).
The glowing lines connecting them represent the Compute Routing mechanism automatically directing each workload to the right node based on hardware capability.
=> The entire network is purpose-built for AI to run natively onchain, without intermediaries.
