Of course, although any of them could have done it, even perhaps a longer list.....it boils to nothing! With all due respect, I disagree. Former MPs served, earned salaries, received allowances, and had access to opportunities that many ordinary Ugandans can only dream of. During their time in office, they should have planned for life after Parliament by saving, investing and building sustainable sources of income. This should also serve as a lesson to current MPs. Stop treating a parliamentary seat as a lifetime guarantee of luxury. Many abandon the simple lives they once lived, rush into extravagant lifestyles, borrow heavily to impress the public, and later find themselves drowning in debt. Live within your means. Save and invest your income. Continue living as an ordinary citizen. Eat where you have always eaten, live in the homes you already own, and prepare for the day you leave office. Uganda has far more urgent challenges to address than creating special retirement privileges for people who were already well compensated for their service. Public office is temporary, and financial responsibility is a personal obligation not a burden that should later be transferred to taxpayers.

Unfortunately, the winds of war are blowing once again in the Middle East, in Ukraine and in many other parts of the world, sowing violence, terror and death, and once again affecting many innocent people. Let us not allow these winds to extinguish the flame of hope and peace, even when it seems fragile and flickering. I renew my hope that we will persevere on the path of dialogue, encounter and diplomacy. This is the only path capable of leading to a just and lasting peace, in which peoples can live in reconciliation, mutual security and respect for the dignity of every person.

I have never understood people who threaten others with DEATH. How have we failed to understand the concept of death after millions of years of humanity? It's plain simple: No human being is immortal so, whether you kill thousands of peopleyou'll still die and find them where you sent them. It's only a matter of time difference but we're all going to die and the World shall still move on like we never existed. Is this too complex?

When you have Ministers who don't understand and comprehend how a government is supposed to operate, this is inevitable. Views raised at a meeting cannot and should never be enough evidence to interdict a person at the level of district health officer. There has to be a prima facie evidence or report. This kind of action kills decentralisation. It's also beyond the scope of the powers of a Minister. Ministers are responsible for policy whereas Permanent secretaries run ministries. In the worst case scenario,he should have asked the Chief Administrative Officer to first investigate and provide a report to the Permanent Secretary. Then he would liaise with the Permanent Secretary after receiving the report to decide on the next course of action.. With this kind of precedent, locals who don't like local government officials will invite a minister and report him/her so that the Minister can issue directives for interdiction.
