Today is the fourth day of deliberations and HHJ Flewitt indicated he would accept a majority verdict on Friday. In a trial of such narrow issues - e.g. was it self-defence or not - I am a bit concerned at the continuing deadlock. The judge may well pull the plug in a day or two.

The jury is out after five weeks of the Manchester Airport retrial of brothers Mohammed Fahir Amaaz & Muhammad Amaad. Whatever the result, British policing will change forever. Only one side can win this. The consequences will be far-reaching.

Magistrate sanctioned over refusal to return to court for verdict: lawgazette.co.uk/news/magistrat… On the face of it, this sounds really bad. The Presiding Justice is the voice of the Bench and delivers the collective decision of the Bench, in good grace, irrespective of their own views.

@SqSehrish 400 m. Too easy. Looks harder than it is because of the way it is drawn (what is really a square looks like a rectangle).

@DailyMail So presumably, if he has litigation in mind, he doesn't object to all his dirty laundry being aired in public? The BBC is bound to put that dirty laundry in defence of the claim.

@keith_bays @UKLabour Luckily for the Aberdeen South by-election none of Scotland's group stage matches fall on a Thursday. Won't need to worry about the knock-out stage.

@EssexPR A bit presumptious. The good people of Makerfield maybe aren't the subservient automatons Team Burnham think they are.

@kateferguson4 Talk about cocky. Simons has only been MP for 5 minutes. The good people of Makerfield are being taken for granted.
