It’s not radical, it’s the way it used to be.
The way we farm and look after our hens?
It’s not that long ago everyone farmed like this.
Back when eggs tasted like eggs and chicken tasted like chicken.
When you look after the land, the land will look after you.
Busy night! Our first first foal for 10 years is a colt by new sire Isaac Shelby (by superstar sire Night of Thunder). Rio’s Cliffs is the dam, and both are doing well this morning. #MoatHouseFarm

Happy that my wee fold had their pedicures in the sunshine today 👌
It might look like a torture chamber but it’s a fantastic piece of kit that keeps both cow and trimmer safe

I'm really lucky to have these conversations with strangers and I was just blown away at the depth of his knowledge about Australian agriculture & trade, our political parties and their failings, and the way in which he articulated these thoughts and opinions. Not a conversation I expected to have at the Woolies checkout.
Just had the most fascinating interaction with a young bloke at Woolies. He came over to assist me because I was purchasing a plastic knife & fork set to keep in my luggage & of course my age needed to be verified.
I own a small bakery. Business has been slow. Rent is up. I was thinking about closing.
Last Friday, a teenager came in. He looked nervous. He counted out change for a cookie. He was short 50 cents.
"It's okay," I said. "Take it."
He ate it at a table, looking at his math homework. He looked stuck.
I used to be a math tutor.
I walked over. "Quadratic equations?"
He nodded. "I don't get it."
I sat down and helped him for 20 minutes. He got it. He left smiling.
The next day, he came back with two friends. They bought cookies.
The day after that, five kids came.
Apparently, he told the school, "The lady at the bakery helps with homework."
Now, my bakery is the after-school hang-out spot. It's loud. It's messy. There are backpacks everywhere.
Yesterday, I found a note in the tip jar. It was wrapped around a $20 bill.
"Thanks for helping my son pass math. A Mom."
I'm not closing the bakery.
I think I finally found my purpose.
It's not cookies. It's community.

Just had to explain to one of my children that no actually, you can’t just roll up to a professional rodeo & ‘have a go’ at the bull ride - because it’s not Oodnadatta.
