Like Newcastle supporters almost want to suffer, wearing it like a badge of honour. Some competition with other fanbases about who has the lowest self-esteem, who can put up with the most negligence, who can handle the most pain. (#2) #NUFC

A word on the #NUFC fanbase: I remember going to a game during the worst Ashley years and - while I was passionate about the damage he was doing - lots of other 'fans' were shrugging their shoulders. Saying we've had it worse. And that it's not good to moan. (#1)

I’m going to say it now so we are all clear. I’m not calling for Eddie Howe to be sacked because he remains the best manager for the job and has over achieved for four years. My view hasn’t changed on that. Yes this is difficult and he’s under huge pressure now but he deserves a chance to rebuild the team in the summer and go again. And I’m very confident he will bring more success in the future. Thanks for your time. Nobody will get me to change my mind. #nufc

The derby NUFC could not lose ends in defeat & it’s entirely deserved for SAFC. Home midfield on the missing list for too much of this game & defence too soft when they had to resist. Brian Brobbey the game’s best player by a distance. Newcastle took lead but never had control.
