@DCBMEP No reform need to put the greater good first. Reform have been taken over by the very people voted out two years ago and why we are in the dire situation we are in. Have to disagree this time.

In the @Telegraph I talk about @Ed_Miliband's idiotic plan to make new oil and gas drilling illegal He claims to want secure home grown clean energy but prefers to import hydrocarbons that are dirtier than the ones we produce The contradiction is obvious to everyone except him apparently The other worrying aspect is that the proposed Bill is framework legislation which effectively gives ministers a blank cheque to deal with what can be extremely important details later with secondary legislation and statutory instruments which attract little scrutiny What is it about this @UKLabour government that wants to avoid accountability. They tried to cancel elections and now they're trying to swerve proper Parliamentary scrutiny @Keir_Starmer @KemiBadenoch @ClaireCoutinho @AndrewBowie_MP @griffitha @NJ_Timothy @DavidGHFrost @afneil @Iromg @AllisonPearson @MerrynSW @EdConwaySky @mattotele @mattwridley telegraph.co.uk/business/2026/…

Everyone should have the right to fly whatever flag they wish from their own property but official Government and local authority buildings should only have the Union flag. Otherwise where does it stop ?Just because the Ukrainian flag is not flown does not mean we don’t support their people

How many people do you know that can get away with underpaying £40,000 in tax to HMRC and walk away without so much as a £100 fine? Incredible.

Activist: "Your cows are putting carbon into the atmosphere." Farmer: "Where did they get it?" Activist: "What?" Farmer: "The carbon. Where did the cow get it before it put it anywhere." Activist: "From... eating?" Farmer: "From eating grass. And where did the grass get it." Activist: "The soil?" Farmer: "The air. The grass pulled it out of the air last spring. The cow ate the grass. The cow breathed some of it back out. It went back into the air it came from." Activist: "But it's still going into the atmosphere." Farmer: "It's going back. There's a difference between a thing going somewhere and a thing going back. You've described a circle and you're frightened of it." Activist: "Then just don't have the cow." Farmer: "The grass still dies in autumn. It rots where it falls. The carbon goes back into the air either way, just without anyone getting fed in the middle." Activist: "It's not that simple." Farmer: "It's grass, cow, breath, grass. Or it's grass, rot, air, grass. Same circle, fewer dinners. If that's complicated for you I'd stay away from the water cycle. That one's got clouds in it."

How on earth has Angela Rayner been "cleared" by HMRC? She didn't pay the extra £40,000 stamp duty that was due. She didn't take the specialist tax advice on her flat purchase that she was advised to take. She failed to pay the extra stamp duty that she, as Housing Secretary, had brought in for second home purchasers. For HMRC not to issue a fine means they judged her decision as "reasonable care" having been taken, or it was possibly "careless", but not a "deliberate" underpayment. She clearly did not take "reasonable care" to ensure her tax was correct. And if it was "careless", it was *deliberate* carelessness. Do you seriously think that if YOU underpaid your taxes by £40,000 as the then Deputy Prime Minister did, that you would get away without a fine? Sorry, but this stinks.
Pippa Crerar@PippaCrerar

EXCL: Angela Rayner has been cleared by HMRC of deliberate wrongdoing or carelessness over her tax affairs, paving the way for a potential leadership bid if Keir Starmer’s grip on power unravels. The former DPM has settled £40,000 in unpaid stamp duty, but has not paid any penalty as a result of the investigation. HMRC was also satisfied there was no tax avoidance. Rayner tells me she was “bruised” by whole experience because of intrusion into her disabled son’s personal life, but also because it had appeared as though she was “in it for myself” rather than on the side of ordinary people. Rayner indicated she may run in event of a contest as she would “play my part” and that she understood why Labour MPs were so upset following last week’s election crushing. She said Starmer should “reflect on” stepping aside.

In his desperation to cling onto power, Keir Starmer is looking distract attention by clamping down on the Unite The Kingdom march this Saturday, rather than address the grievances the marchers seek to raise: grooming gangs, the neglect of parts of the country, and mass and illegal immigration which threatens our very way of life. People are struggling Keir Starmer and all you do is attack them. Vile man. When I was speaking to @AndrewGold_ok last October I described the UTK march last year and put things into perspective. Starmer should watch it.

Labour are finished, but the Conservatives have got to hang on in there. As things stand right now, I believe that until Reform are in Government and make a probable mess of it and time has healed the wounds of the electorate with the Tories, it is unlikely the Conservatives will get back in to power. I hope I am wrong, but we could be talking 8 years at least. But the Conservatives WILL get back in time and it’s important that there is a credible party of the right to offer British voters.🇬🇧
