I don’t know what the solution is. I know back in the olden days you had whatever people were around your age to chose from and that was that unless you ventured away. In said village, the pecking order filtered pretty automatically and families helped in that regard.
I know 30 years ago, we dated and had our fun and then (location based) you hit an age where the music stopped and you scrambled around to find a partner.
Neither of these situations are necessarily better and data shows people that find partners are living with happier marriages. In today’s world of unlimited communication and options…it makes sense to have high expectations that make unnecessary settling a good thing.
This is all to explain that settling in marriage isn’t necessarily a bad thing as much as it’s not a good thing. Having expectations or boundaries, in anything, comes with the caveat that you may not reach those wants. With any set standard, there must be a willingness to reevaluate the expectations, to not only make sure it aligns with changing goals, but as you gain more information the standards may have to change as well. This is the part that in today’s world feels like a “non-negotiable” or a failure, when it isn’t and that part needs to evolve as well.

Today @ run club (don’t judge me guys I’m back in Austin (for now)) my friend said, “I’m 32. I want to find my wife. I want to get married. I want to have kids. But it seems like no one wants to do that.” WHICH IS CRAZY TO ME bc every guy I know WANTS THAT and every girl I know ALSO WANTS THAT. So where are we going awry what is the miss how are the people who want that not finding each other??? WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?? What are our expectations? Are they too high? Are we settling where we shouldn’t settle and are we wanting more from people who have shown AND TOLD US they have nothing more to give?? Unsure what is happening but determined to get to the bottom of it. If you have any insight - comment or DM me.
New Substack on this coming today if I can get my shit together but probably tomorrow.

@MainStPocket @bumbadum14 Rejection of beauty standards is a rejection of boundaries and expectations.

Millenials have this weird quirk chungus thing of “I should be ugly and you find me sexy” bit that at face value shouldn’t be that bad but inevitably will result in a relationship defined by complacency and resentment.
You SHOULD make yourself hot and sexy for the woman/man you love.

@realEstateTrent Ok, this picture just weirded me out. I might have to block you.

I was waiting for an uber at LaGuardia the other day, and thought it was interesting that Uber Black now has its own separate waiting area.
So, I took this photo.
An older gentleman standing next to the photo asked why I was taking the picture, and I told him I thought it was interesting that there is a separate area for uber black.
He asked why take a photo then.
I told him I wanted to post it on social media for other people to see.
He freaked out. Got weirdly scared. And told his family to get away from me.

Women throughout history have viewed men the way men view their jobs. They view having a man as a way to get the lifestyle they want. Your job is part of your identity and a reflection of your value. You don’t want to get too attached or you’ll be stuck forever, and it’s good to make sure the company doesn’t take you for granted. In order to get that vacation house, you know you’re going to have to change jobs. You can love your job, enjoy it…but you’re always open to discussing new opportunities. No matter how much you love your company, you need to be prepared that it’ll end someday and have something else lined up.
If you’re lucky, you have a passion for your job and enjoy doing it ever single day.

@GeorgeHayduke77 @PolymarketMoney In no world is .6% of GDP a “rounding error”.

@PolymarketMoney 30B is 0.6% of CAs GDP. They aren't a big player, more like a rounding error.

England are two wins away from being crowned football World Champions in America, just days after the U.S. celebrated 250 years of kicking us out. If that doesn’t inspire @HKane and his team to glory, nothing will. Come on lads, do it for King George III.

I don't really understand the hangup about ordering 1 light beer out of politeness, If you have health concerns and/or you don't like getting drunk you're in luck because there just isn't that much alcohol in one Mich Ultra
Steven Godofsky@sgodofsk
It amazes me that even into my thirties I still occasionally get people who are so shockingly rude as to hassle me about not drinking alcohol at an event. My parents don't drink. I didn't grow up with any drinking culture. It feels weird that people get so uptight about this.

@WestsideLAGuy Let me take a bullpen of women out on a date. "Blonde is giving me nothing here. Get the 5'9" brunette up and moving"
English

I'm once again asking men to consider unattractive women exist. I promise you whatever privileges you resent women for exist only for the ones you want to fuck. No one gives a shit about an ugly woman's problems.
The Black Horse@TheBlackHorse65
One of the things women really don't understand about life as a man is that the more difficult your life gets, the less people care about yuor suffering. Once you leave your mother's house, no one is ever pull you out of a downward spiral again unless you do it.

At 4:45 p.m. ET today, U.S. Central Command began launching the third consecutive night of strikes against Iran, at the Commander in Chief's direction. These strikes will continue imposing a heavy cost on Iranian forces and degrade their ability to attack innocent civilians and commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
