أصدقائي الأعزّاء، كبرتُ في بلدٍ تجاور فيه الأحلام الأزمات، وتُولد فيه القناعات من قلب المعاناة. في لبنان، تعلّمت أن أتمسّك بالكلمة، لا كسلاحٍ للجدل، بل كوسيلةٍ لفهم الناس والدفاع عنهم. واليوم، يسعدني أن أعلن انضمامي إلى قناة "فرانس ٢٤" بالعربيّة، وذلك كمساعد رئيس تحرير لمدّة ستّة أشهر، ابتداءً من الشهر المقبل في العاصمة الفرنسيّة باريس. إنّها خطوة جديدة سأبدأها بشغف الشاب اللبناني الذي ما زال يؤمن أن لصوته مكاناً، وأنّ لقضايا منطقتنا من يحملها بصدق ومسؤوليّة. شكراً لكلّ من رافقني وآمن بهذا الطريق، شكراً لقناة "فرانس ٢٤" على الثقة، والله ولي التوفيق. @France24_ar @France_MM

I don't want to judge too early, but I'm starting to have second thoughts about President Joseph Aoun. He's a very polite, respectful man whom I respect and appreciate a lot, but he isn't being as tough and aggressive as I want him to be. He seems too calm and relaxed while the country is in its worst state ever. If I were president, I would order the army to forcefully disarm Hezbollah and all other armed groups. Otherwise, what's the purpose of having an army? 80,000 soldiers, hundreds of tanks, attack airplanes capable of delivering precise airstrikes, helicopters, boats, drones, missiles... What are these for? How could a collapsed, nearly disarmed militant group resist them? During his presidential speech, he stated that one of his goals is to make the government the sole holder of weapons in the country. However, based on the way he started dealing with it, I'm not really hopeful. He banned weapons that belong to Palestinian camps outside their camps but failed to address weapons inside them and considered it a resolved matter. ❌ He said that the status of Hezbollah's weapons is to be determined and resolved by the Lebanese people, basically giving up on this matter. ❌ He stated in his latest interview with AlSharq News that the state is solely responsible for defending the nation, but if it wants to get help from others, it can. Who does he mean by "others"? Hezbollah? ❌ Probably, because he also stated in his interview that he wants to have a national "defensive strategy," meaning integrating Hezbollah's arsenal into the national defense framework, with discussions focusing on balancing state sovereignty with the group's capabilities against external threats. This is a complete violation of Lebanon's sovereignty, and it's totally unacceptable to have discussions with Hezbollah and integrate them into the government in any shape or form after they destroyed the country twice. ❌ He didn't make it clear and specify that Hezbollah, the Palestinians, and all other militia groups will be disarmed and that UNSCR 1701 will be fully applied, which makes me worried that he might legitimize Hezbollah's arms and consider them part of the state instead of disarming them forcefully. ❌ He's trying to be a unifying, peaceful, kind, egalitarian figure with a soft stance on Hezbollah and armed Palestinians, while we currently need the complete opposite to revive the country. He constantly says nice things, but based on his preliminary performance, I'm not feeling optimistic that his words will materialize... Let's see how this will go. Will he change my mind? I hope so.
