@pt5films What gatekeepers? Christopher Nolan shot his first feature film on weekends, while working a 9 to 5, for $6,000, and the bulk of that budget was 16mm film stock/processing. Today the barrier is even lower. Talent and dedication are the gate keepers. God forbid AI replace that!

This all started after a protester confronted me about protest footage that aired on Jimmy Kimmel. He claimed it came from Frontlines and that I was the one who filmed it. (He was correct) Afterward, I was repeatedly confronted and surrounded throughout the protest, yet I stayed nothing but respectful, even as some called for me to get “kirk’d”. Then came the targeted arrest that, unfortunately, led me straight into the unwell activist, Christopher Almaraz, whom you see in this video. In all my years of reporting, the far left has always been hostile to independent media or any outlet that doesn’t “align” with their interests. However, over the past year, targeted harassment and violence against reporters have seen a drastic uptick, and real accountability has been almost nonexistent. Members of the press should not have to worry about being harmed or worse by violent radicals simply for doing their jobs. I’ve worked for quite a few companies, yet I’ve never been explicitly targeted because of the company I work for… until @FrontlinesTPUSA.

Metaphysically, you're way off the mark. The problem isn't the existence of some so-called "supernatural" stuff, the problem is a failure to understand what the so-called "natural" stuff is, and, more importantly, what it isn't. But yes, since consciousness is fundamentally not mechanical, it cannot be built mechanically. As for any discussions about AI, most of them are the trivial chatter of en vogue fanboys. After studying philosophy, Kant, Searle, Nagel, Brentano, Heiddegger, etc, there are better conversations to be had, but all too little overlap with whatever it is software engineers and CEOs must be reading to entertain such impossibilities.

@MakerBurns @RichardDawkins Sincere question: do you think consciousness is impossible without supernatural ingredients? I suppose that means impossible without a soul? Because if you do believe that, it seems discussions of AI self-knowledge would be uninteresting to you.
